Good morning, all! I have physical therapy first thing this morning. It's no longer at 11:00, and it's now at 10:15, so I'll leave here around 9:30. Following that, I will come back here, change and get ready to head into midtown to see my friend Craig, whom i've not seen since 1972. At that point, he was a senior. longer a theatre major and applying to med schools. We'd been friends since he was a freshman and I a graduate assistant. The big joke between us was, if there were really vilified, pathetically inept horror film anywhere, we had to see it.Since then, he married, had a son, separated, remarried, had several more children, became the head of the pediatrics dept. in a hospital in Fargo, and now he lives in Dallas. For 30 years, since I moved to NYC, we've talked and joked about his coming to visit. I'm so happy he's here, I can hardly walk! At least it's not a death bed reunion.
It is official, I will be directing GUYS & DOLLS in June.

I hope all those losing jobs, especially your son, will find new and better employment right away!!Thanks, DR MBarnum. This week he has to concentrate on the final exam for his anatomy & physiology class (pre-req for physician assistant school).I didn't realize he was taking courses. Has he been accepted to a school or does he need to finish the pre-requesit courses first? He's taking some of the prerequisite courses that weren't required of a philosophy major.

DR John G, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.
Bad family news: my dad's company is doing poorly, so Jo and Randy have told me not to expect anything from them for Christmas. That's fine with me, but i responded that he and Macbeth need to drop their greedy dreams on that property, list it with a realtor at a salable price and then invest the money in a bank account rather than wait for some idiot to purchase the land at the ridiculously high price they're asking. Goneril and Regan need their butts kicked.

I will once I can get these glasses fixed. Are you still snow and iced in today?Kind of. Keith walked the driveway this morning to test it was ok and then we both walked down it. I was a bit nervous and kept walking on the snow instead of the driveway. We then walked down the road which was ok though for parts I stayed in the snow vs walking on areas that were a bit slippery. We then got to the main road, which regularly isn't a busy one, and it was very icy. Keith crossed it today and there was mail in the box. Walking back up the road was easy.

I have a problem. Some type of turpentine (or something like it) spilled in the room where my computer is. I am extremely sensitive to smells. And my eyes burn so bad when i am near the smell. It has been removed. But i don't know if there is some type of clean up i need to do. I can't really tell if there is any on the carpet. And i can't go near it to check it out. I hope the smell is much less by tomorrow.

VIBES the Macbeths come around and do "something good"!
Lots of icy roads in the area. Tomorrow we are supposed to get up to 5 inches of snow, which is a major event for the DC area.
Here's another cloud over our heads today:Ohio's Largest EMS Providers Close...Our son Rob worked for one of these companies in Cincinnati. He received the news via phone at 10pm Friday evening.

Just found out that one of the nicest people I've met in San Antonio's restaurant scene died this morning from cancer. It's come as a big shock. We'd been praying for her husband, who has been in need of a kidney transplant for several years. Never knew that she had health issues, too.
TOD: I hate mics on actors. It is may be the single thing I hate most about today's theatre. If you can't hit the back wall of the theatre through natural vocal projection, then you either shouldn't be in the business or the venue is too damned big for theatre. I'm in theatres all the time where I've either performed or seen others perform and they never required mics, but do these days. The worst part is the mics make actors very lazy. Yes, you can hear them but you can't understand them, because with their crutch...the mic...their diction and enunciation gets sloppy. And the visible head mic is the worst thing for the willing suspension of disbelief since bad acting.
And the Citibank crisis is over. The funds, which should have been deposited last thursday have finally landed in my checking account.
