DR Elmore ... she was "Betsy", right?  What a wonderful singer -- and, I presume, actress!  :)

And the Russian princess Stephanie in ROBERTA. I think she can do nearly anything.

Oh!  Also to DR Elmore (I meant to ask this the other day) --

You spoke of your wonderful get-together with Vincent Lynch, "pianist extraordinaire".  Would love to hear the work of anyone earning such a description from you.  Can you give a pointer to anything in particular?

Vinny seems to be able to do anything with a keyboard, from lead sheets to virtuoso pianistic writing and his ear is amazing. He leaves me gawking at his abilities.  When he first received the piano 1 part for ROBERTA, he sent the orchestra manager a text that said something like "have looked over piano part. Holy Mary mother of  f@#k!" And it sounds amazing!  He also got to ad lib as the stage band pianist, bouncing between what was on the part and ad libbing when asked to do so, never sounding like a lot of flashy current cabaret pianists but sounding right for the period.

Happy Birthday, MBarnum!

I just found out that my work's long-time firewalling of this site seems to have expired, so hi to all 3 of you who might remember me from way back in the day.

Howdy, DR Elan! Good to see you.

I'm up after eight and a half hours of sleep.  For the first time in years I left the heat on - it's bad to do because I get very congested, but it's so nice to have it warm when one wakes up.

I hope his rates are cheap, causing flying all the way out there for Freddy's vet checkups is going to cost me a fortune.

Can you have a humidifier running at the same time?

Welcome back, DR Elan!  How's your family?

Thanks, Ginny (and everyone else)!

The family is doing well, although I really do need to update that profile pic: We're up to three boys now (ages 8, 6, and 2 1/2), and child #4 due sometime in March.
