I talked to Craig; he and Janet are hitting the box office for ONCE to see about tickets for tonight; they were last spotted at Radio City.

Good choices, both!

The meeting at which I presided last night was held in the sanctuary of the church where Richard and I were married almost 33 years ago.  After the business meeting, the church music director talked about the pipe organ and played a few selections.  She said, "Now let's see who recognizes this."  Thinking she was going to play a Christmas carol, it took me a minute to realize she was playing "Hail to the Victors" (Michigan fight song).  One of my board members, who's in the choir there, had arranged that as a surprise for me.  The Ohio State fans in the crowd were not amused - Go, Blue!

DR SINGDAW - whenever I am between jobs or shows - I always count it as vacation time!  It's a wonderfully productive way to look at it.....if I was working or rehearsing, I wouldn't have time to do this....

I guess that means I have been on vacation for two years!!

DR TCB, on vacation for two years is so much better than being out to lunch for two years!

Happy Birthday, MBarnum!

I just found out that my work's long-time firewalling of this site seems to have expired, so hi to all 3 of you who might remember me from way back in the day.

Nice seeing you again, DR Elan!

The organist said she'd never even heard the Michigan fight song and had to order the music!

Oh, here is an absolutely delightful interview with Karen Dotrice, the little girl from Disney's MARRY POPPINS and (one of my all time favorite films) THE THREE LIVES OF THOMASINA.

I loved this article. As a grown up actress, I've seen her in the campy SHE FELL AMONG THIEVES and Tony Richardson's JOSEPH ANDREWS. Karen's father Roy was a wonderful actor, who had a one-man show about Charles Dickens. I think it was recorded by Caedmon Records.

From DR CharlesPogue:
Quote
Just as much as I thought all the vitriolic outrage over Carrie Underwood playing Maria was just silly and classless, Carrie's twitter response preaching Jesus at her critics is just as silly and classless.  Be a pro, Carrie!  Let the comments of internet armchair nerds be ignored as they should.

This make me shake my head and laugh at how ridiculous it all is.

Thank you for the birthday wishes DR Sam.  Today we picked up my birthday flowers from Bryan.  Since they weren't delivered extra flowers were added to the beautiful arrangement.

Moving vibes to you!

The smell of turpentine is better but still not good. And I'm very sensitive to smells anyways.

I really hope that i am able to use that computer. Because there are some pictures on it that i really need to use for a calendar today or tomorrow latest. Of course this would happen on the day when i absolutely need to get something off of it. And to get the pictures ready would probably take at least an hour or two. :(

I guess I could do it in shifts if i absolutely had to.

Is there a scent you do like?  If so put a little bit of it on a scarf or something you can wrap around your face.  Then you will have the good smell and not the one that bothers you.

Here is our new vet. (The one on the right.)

I hope his rates are cheap, causing flying all the way out there for Freddy's vet checkups is going to cost me a fortune.

Welcome back, DR Elan!  How's your family?

Thanks, Ginny (and everyone else)!

The family is doing well, although I really do need to update that profile pic: We're up to three boys now (ages 8, 6, and 2 1/2), and child #4 due sometime in March.

Congratulations on your upcoming baby.

I had a quesadilla for lunch, picked up a couple of packages, but none of the overdue ones, and came home.  Since one of the packages contained the new blu and ray of Mary Poppins, I popped in Poppins and watched the first hour and ten minutes.  I will only say that this transfer is so stunning and magical it's like discovering the film for the first time again.  More in the notes.
