Good morning, all.

It is, of course, snowing.  I'd guess we've got an inch so far, but it's really coming down.  Our estimate as of last night was to get between four and eight inches.  Ugh and Oy.

Coffee.  Banana.  Apple cider doughnut.  More coffee.

Thanks to BK for the beautiful and detailed reminiscences in the notes.  That's one to print out and lay into my copy of Kritzer Time.

I tend to remember events as much by the day of the week as by the numerical date, so yesterday was when I felt the impact of the anniversary of Sandy Hook.  As I sat marveling at the amazing and beautiful work of so many kids of all ages in last night's Nutcracker, I almost felt I could put myself in the place of parents who had suffered that kind of a loss, and feel it for a moment.  Not really, of course.  I know I couldn't imagine such a thing.  But sometimes the right confluence of things can get one into that kind of a groove, and it gives one pause.  As it should.

Good morning, all! 2014 can nay be a better year because this ones ending as a total disaster in my life!  It's over in three weeks, and I am praying I survive it. Last night, around 1:00, I work with terrible pains in my leg from the stitches. I had been dreaming about Julie Andrews making a recording with me, and suddenly I was wake. I took two Tylenol with codeine, went back to bed and read for an hour or so, and then spent the rest of the night in a very unsettling sleep.  I;m ready for my second cup of coffee, and I'm very unhappy that I lost several hours of good working time yesterday. So, today I will be at my desk trying to get through Act One.

Today is also my dad's 92nd birthday, and I am a bit melancholy. I do miss him very much.

BK, I loved today's notes about Toby Bluth. He had a huge fascination with BABES IN TOYLAND and kept trying to fix the show, which is impossible because it is what it is and the score is the important thing. I have his book version, which is  one of several of his adaptations.

I am so happy that David is going to do LI'L ABNER!  It will sound fantastic, and I hope it makes me thoroughly jealous that I waffled about doing it.

TOD:  All the people I can think of in my life that were quite influential were teachers and/or instructors. I feel badly that society doesn't seem to value this role (monetarily, at least) as much as CEOs or professional athletes.

Agree, re teachers and instructors.  Can't even imagine not having benefited from their wisdom and guidance.

TOD: I've learned a great deal from the people I've interviewed over the years. One of those happened to be a certain Larry Moore, one of a few people I've kept in touch with long after the interview is over.

I cut myself trying to open a carton with a sharp knife. I wasn't paying attention.

TOD:

Several people have had a major positive influence on my career path.  Among them:

1. The Storyman - If you've read some of my writings, you will know who he is.
2. Producer Stanley Rubin, who is (thankfully) still with us.
3. Roger Corman, also (thankfully) still with us.

The list goes on...
