Had a nice plate of fried oysters tonight before an OK plate of Asian noodles for dinner. Why is it that when you get assigned to write about Asian noodles, all of your favorite places start to serve average or lousy dishes?

Starting to watch a film noir from Nicholas Ray called "They Live by Night" with Farley Granger and Howard Da Silva. Really gruesome beginning. Should be fun.

Good evening. don't know a whole lot today. I finally put my demand letter together for the insurance company from the accident. I should probably have done it a couple weeks ago, I do know that the adjusters like to resolve things by the end of the year, so hopefully I can get this wrapped up in the next couple weeks

As "They Live By Night" nears its end, I realize that this is the same story as Robert Altman's "Thieves Like Us," only told fairly differently. It's apparently Nicholas Ray's first movie and it's a beauty.
