Great Ohio story.

I checked with my sister and she did remember having some Colorforms, but she doesn't recall which ones.

And here is the Golden Songbook from, literally, all the years of our childhood:   http://www.flickr.com/photos/redraspus/2911923690/

I sent her the link and she was so happy to see that image again, she immediately ordered one on eBay.  Which, for her, is saying something.  Hell, even I wasn't going to do THAT!    :)

DR Cilla, VIBES THE INSURANCE COMPANY ACCEPTS YOUR DEMANDS!

Thanks Jane.  They never accept the first offer, but that's standard so the first offer has to be high. It's a stupid game, but it is what it is.

DR Cilla I like what you would do with your lottery winnings.  I would make very nice donations to my favorite charities and your will be on my list.

Why thank you.  I got my ticket tonight at the grocery store.  There must be a lot of school programs going on because there were almost no people in the store at 6:15 PM.  I felt like there was a citywide party and I didn't get an invitation.

Ah, yes, board games!  My favorites, which I still have, were Careers, Go to the Head of the Class, and The Barbie Game.

We had all of those.  I loved Monopoly, Risk, Stratego, Battleship .....actually there aren't very many I don't like

When I was growing up between 8 years old and 12 years old, we lived way OUT in the country.....so there was no way to get to a library....and of course there were no home computers.

Board games and records were our great time passers.....and writing away for photos from movie stars and waiting on the mail.  We loved Chinese Checkers, Clue, Monopoly, Careers, and of course card games.

We also liked flip sides of records, because some of them were instrumentals, and we would make up lyrics to the songs and sing them.....

CLUE!  I loved Clue and Yahtzee

Colorform?  Isn't that what they used to use on surgery patients?

There's a copy of that book in the piano bench we inherited (along with the piano) from Richard's mother!

Jane, how could you not love Magoo ?

Easily, plus I had to watch him every year with my sister-groan!  I found Magoo rude and annoying.

I mostly liked westerns.  I watched some cartoons.  Mighty Mouse and Tom & Jerry were my favorites.  I watched The Jetson's & The Flintstones but they weren't my favorite shows.  I liked the Disney movies but not Mickey and the gang so much.

Well, I survived our two-minute tap routine. Then they brought on the high school kids who were stellar.

You know, I never did recitals or anything like that as a kid. Why am I doing it now?

I was going to leave early today and go to The Book Thief before it leaves at the end of the week.   But....my shades were delivered to the office and that changed things.  I came home and installed the kitchen and downstairs bathroom shades.  I forgot how to do it so it was a bit of a struggle on the first one. The second went very smoothly, but my shoulder got tired, so I decided to do a few every day until I'm done.  I really need to paint several window sills, lol.  I'll save installing the upstairs den until I finish painting it.  My project for my vacation

That's great that they arrived.

I discovered today that my Christmas present from my sister, which the postal service said was delivered, is not in my possession. So, what happened to it? Did someone take it from my mailbox?

Where did they say it was delivered?   Was it your address?  My mom had a package delivered to someone in Kansas.  They actually tracked it down, got it back from her and delivered it to my mom.  It was worth the call

Actually when I tracked my order last night it said they weren't leaving the factory until Dec. 23.

The address on the slip was my address. So, maybe they can trace it.
