I was trying to find a book today to give to my 21 year old nephew, but I couldn't find much....lots of fantasy which he enjoys....but many of the books seem to have female protagonists which I am not sure is his favorite....

Finally found one that seemed pretty good....we shall see.

I am back after a very full day. All of my errands were fruitful and Becky's birthday lunch at The Grand Finale was dee-lightful.

I am also back after a very full day of errands, including a run up to Poughkeepsie where I believe they're still picking their feet. It's a beautiful drive, especially along the Taconic State Parkway, but on every other road the traffic was just horrible. For no discernible reason. Even around "Road Work" areas. There's just no explanation for it. I think we've gotten to the point where the only remedy is immediate revocation of all IDIOTS' drivers licenses, which will pretty much leave me on the highways by myself, but what are you gonna do.

I also settled my claim today for my accident. It's not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but it fixes the cash flow problem since the accident and makes it totally ok for Edith and I to close the office for a week.

I was just watching ABC news. The reporter quoted the president as saying "When it comes to athletic performance we don't make a distinction based on sexual performance" I think he meant preference, LOL

Do you have a fan you can blow on the area?

I found variations of this method:
Air a room where turpentine has been spilt on the floor or carpet. Sop up the excess with paper towels and let the area dry. Clean the floor with soapy water. If the spill is on a carpet, sprinkle baking soda, a powder carpet freshener or kitty litter over the turpentine. This should soak up extra liquid and neutralise the smell. Vacuum the carpet after a few hours.

According to the summons I received today I will have to begin Jury Duty on January 30th. I have to call the evening before to see if they still need/want me. I haven't done JD since 2006. Before that I did it like clockwork, when the schedule was every 2 years. Now they have made exemptions much stricter and it's hard to get out of JD (not that I ever did). Almost everyone has to show up for at least 1 day. Back in the day I did JD 6 times between 1986 and 2006. I did Criminal, Civil, Federal and Grand Jury (I have the fingerprints to prove it) and all the cases (except for Grand Jury) came to verdict.

I used to love riding along the Taconic for that very reason.

It's 51 degrees in Manhattan and it's supposed to be 57 tomorrow and 66 on Sunday! The temperatures start to drop after that but not by that much. It will be 37 and sunny on Christmas day.
