Happy Sunday, All!

I'm savoring the Jonathon Schwartz Christmas show this morning via the internet. JRB posted about it, and so far, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Christine Ebersole have been guests on it, as well as some stunning musicians. it goes for another hour I think.

And... thanks to the character being added to David Lee's revised "Can Can", I found my name on the Wikipedia page of the famous French fartiste, Le Pétomane... ever linked to  musical fartitude. And I thank you.  :P

Is there anything one can do if you had a package delivered ("Left on door step"), but you never received it?  Unfortunately, I bought it with a debit card instead of a credit card.  UPS says they dropped it off at my door step at 10:38 on Wednesday.  I would have been in the bathroom getting ready for the Old Actors lunch.  When I left an hour later there was nothing at my door.  Delivery robbery has been a serious problem this year in Seattle and Tacoma.

Can't you call UPS or your bank and complain or file a complaint?

I didn't think that UPS was allowed to simply leave a package at the door. Especially if you were home. I would definitely call UPS to complain. I mean if you didn't get it.

Is it possible that a neighbor thought that you were out and took it in for you?

BK, be careful what you wish for from your True Love  The first of the 12 Days of Christmas does not occur until December 25, aand the 12th day is January 5.  There is still plenty of time to receive one Laurie Partridge in a pear tree up to 12 Gene Krupas frumming!

UPS leaves packages all the time.

Good morning, all!  I am definitely coming down with something, and I hope it's only a cold. I slept quite poorly last night and debated staying in bed all day.  I'll pour on the vitamin C, stay warmly dressed, and think healthy.

The Sherman Brothers and Disney bashing continues on both the Cast Recording List and FB, and I'm losing a bit of respect with several folk I've had much respect for.  It's funny: thanks to the Sondheim cult, even his dreck is regarded as High Art, and shows that should remain buried are presented in half-assed productions as the second coming of Jesus. But for some reason, a film about a rude, unpleasant P.L. Travers - who clearly had a complete set of psychological problems packed in some heavy emotional baggage - and her battle with Disney is regarded as lies, pandering to promote a 50 year-old film and a studio supporting a pack of bullies, plagiarists and thugs.  After watching the film again, I believe Ms Travers should have thanked Disney for giving the series of incidents in her books a good screenplay, taken the money, and kept her mouth shut.  The film could also have been called SAVING MRS TRAVERS' BANK ACCOUNT.

It's all ridiculous and ugly.

Who are the people doing the bashing?  Name them, please.

I've been up since ten-thirty.  Stayed in bed until the house heated up, and pondered how I wanted to respond to two slightly irritating e-mails I got this morning.  I responded as I needed to, I think, but probably could have written softer versions.  But, one has to say what one feels.

Looks like on castrecl, some people who normally are so rational, and have no problems with the filmmakers and writers not being factual in other works, seem to be having trouble with the lack of reality in the Disney film.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back from Lima and what I hope is the last trip to the grocery store until after Christmas.  A man coming out as we were going in said, "It's brutal in there!"  It was busy, yes, but I could tell him I've seen worse.

The front of that book says Walt Disney's Motion Picture MARY POPPINS....but Travers' name is no where to be found except inside on the copyright page.....

That's nice. And I played my part in the bells half asleep, but without messing up.

I really dislike UPS for this behavior. I think I mentioned coming home to find the new TV sitting next to the door in a huge box with a giant picture of the TV on the outside. If they had written "Steal me" on the side, it would have been about the same.

First, to FJL and Skip, my deepest sympathies on your loss of Toby. I'm glad he had such a good, long life and you all had many good years together.
