Hmm, I kept getting kicked off the internet while on here.  i took that as a an omen not to be too controversial here, so I removed some controversial thoughts (thanks for the {{{  }}} singdaw and Larry.

My last gift has arrived.  I bought my mom a bracelet from the Jacqueline Kennedy Collection.....it's a replica of the bracelet JFK gave her when they became engaged.  It's much prettier in person than it was in the picture and on television.  They have been told not to make the bracelet anymore, so the tooling has been destroyed....

I feel like the Grinch today. I had to review five projects this morning at work and I rejected four of them. Sloppy, factually inaccurate and just plain weird.

In other news,

Quote
In a move sure to set the culinary world and classy guys everywhere reeling, Darden has announced that it will either sell or spin off its Red Lobster restaurants. Adding to the devastation, the company, which also runs Olive Garden and other fine-dining establishments, said it will suspend the opening of new Olive Garden locations and slow down new locations for LongHorn Steakhouses.

Factually inaccurate?  - did you have to look at novelizations of "1776" or "Funny Girl"

Happy Christmas Eve.  I need another cup of coffee.  I really don't want to drive and spend the night away from home tonight. I know that's selfish, but I'd rather stay home....of course I won't.

I'm going to be leaving around noon and will do Christmas Eve at my brother' house and spend the night with mom and dad.  Not sure about tomorrow. I think Sam and Don are making dinner. I'll be playing that one by ear.  I am coming home tomorrow and if I miss dinner, I'll make a turkey roast when I get home

Thanks for the travel vibes

Oh, it's up to 11 degrees, a heat wave compared to yesterday.   We're supposed to have a little snow, less than an inch.  Tomorrow will be near freezing at my parents and above freezing here.  So, it's not bad at all. I'm not leaving until noon.  Still need to wrap gifts, but I bought bags so that won't take long

I just talked to my brother and told him I wanted to see everyone but really dread going.  He laughed and said that he'd love to be able to be alone an do nothing on Christmas for once.   I'm still going but it was nice to have him agree

Ok, time to get moving.....gift cards now sent to the boys in Joplin.  Had an email that the package to my sister just arrived at their home, so sounds like things are all on track....best wrap gifts and get ready to go.

The plumber has finished his work. He stopped the leak by replacing pipe, and solved the pressure problems on the taps. I have a mess to clean up, but I can't do much until the space below the sink is dry. Then I'll put everything away and mop the kitchen and bathroom floors.

Was it the same plumber?
