The Mormon Tabernacle choir is raising a racket on PBS. I think I'll watch them until the opera begins. Their "Jingle Bells" sounds as though the Choir and orchestra cannot decide on a mutual key. Peculiar arrangement.

We arrived home about 10 hours after we left. We found the turkey farm easily and picked up a 15-pound bird' plus 2 box lunches to eat on the road (sandwiches, chips, pickle, cookie). We got to church a full 3 hours before the service was to start, so Richard claimed the couch and I claimed the recliner and we both had naps. Service went well and we were home by 8:30.

You know what today has felt like to me? Remember, when you were kids, and your parents were going to have a grown-ups party. So the kids had to entertain themselves in their rooms. But your parents would keep coming in to make sure you were okay and give updates on the party.

We are the kids. BK is the grown-up.

I didn't particularly like Alfie Boe, but Tom Brokaw narrated a piece for narrator, chorus and orchestra about an American pilot Hal Halvorsen and the German children after WW2 that moved me to tears. Then, to top it all off, Halvorsen appeared, now 93 years old, and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. I was a mess.
