Well, it's time for me to shower, get dressed and hie myself to my sister's house.  We'll just hand out, play games, eat and listen to holiday music.

Have a great day, all!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!

I had a wonderful time at BK's last night. Came in on the later end, and was thankfully there for the blessed Richard Sherman mini-concert. Had long chats with Shelly Markham and Kay Cole, Adryan and Barry, and met a few terrific new people.

Thank you, BK, for the joyous evening.   :)

Christmas never seems real to me here in LA, even when I was a child. I grew up with stories of snow. We used to use Glass Wax to paint "snow" on the windows, while the kids were all trying out their new skateboards in 80-degree weather. That dates me, doesn't it? These days kids are all using their new tablets. I truly miss the snow and the East Coast.

I am most envious of Singdaw's new neighborhood. It sounds really lovely. A great place for walking the dog or just walking.

Larry, I'm sorry about the loss of your best friend. Losses seem more poignant at this time of year.

Broken friendships and how to mend them is such a mystery to me. With my own friends I think it's often a matter of inertia. No malice intended, just no action taken. I have a friend in Florida who makes a point of calling his best friends about once a month. He knows that if he doesn't do it it probably won't happen. He's quite realistic that way. He's the only person I've ever heard of who does that.

One gift I enjoyed this morning was to take my sweet time about things. I hate rushing! I had a leisurely and pleasant morning.

I seem to recall this quote from TV, but can't find what it's from:  "It's the thought that counts, and if that's all you thought of me, then I don't know what to think."

I got to watch my nieces open their presents this morning.  My little niece was so excited about everything.

Then my sister got them tickets to Disney on Ice. And my little niece shouts out "in English?" (they have French shows and English shows). And my sister says yes. So my niece shouts out "I love English!".

Very cute.

Last night DR George mentioned receiving See's fudge. I've never tried their fudge. I guess I'll have to rectify that. I did give a gift of See's truffles this year and was told they were outstanding. I'm trying to really reduce the sugar in my diet, so I don't need any new favorite sweets!

Enjoy the fudge, George. I'm sure it's good.
(A report and photos wouldn't go amiss.)

I've opened my presents - lots of stuff I shouldn't go near - a huge two-pound assortment of chocolate biscuits, dark chocolate caramel with sea salt, See's Candy, and more.  The Shermans gave me the Thomas Newman soundtrack to Saving Mr. Banks.  And someone else gave me the latest soundtrack CD from Downton Abbey.

Well, the friendship that fell apart in 2011 is definitely over. I'm a bit saddened by it, but I stopped weeping over it along time ago. I guess I always hoped the other parties would care enough to at least attempt to mend things. All of my efforts to communicate were ignored. It hurts.

Life goes on.

I am so sorry, DR elmore.

DRs TCB and Jane, Life. Goes. On. I can't let my unhappiness turn ugly. There's a young lady I love enormously in the mix and I can't let her be the fallout victim.

I'm also sorry to hear things can't be repaired. But it is good that you can still have a relationship with their daughter.

So, i opened my packages, and I have one that truly puzzles me, since there was no invoice or gift card telling me my presenter: who the fat hell sent me a Blu-Ray DVD player?

That's the Big Question!

Must be from Santa!  Nice to get an unexpected surprise gift!

This mystery gift just gets better and better. I've been checking out the carton, wondering who I can beg to set this up for me - DR Rodzinski set up my last non-regional player - and this Blu-Ray is non-regional!

O Frabjous day! Calloo! Callay!

This would be a good excuse to contact the E&T DR Rodzinski.

Back from Milla's open house, the Milla of this Kritzerland album
http://kritzerland.com/milla.htm

where people who stopped by included Kritzerland's own Peter Filichia (whose play I loved last Saturday), Broadway by the Year's Barbara and Scott Siegel, Mario Fratti (who i've never met before and who is also really delightful).  Also, Milla's director on the production of THE CRUCIBLE she just did (Michael Ormond, who happened to have worked with Skip and me and our director at NYMF) and it sounds like he'll be helping me by staging an upcoming project.

I got nothing accomplished on Encores! today, which is not good, but I've got the area under the kitchen sink dried and straightened up, and I am ready to tackle laundry and mopping up tomorrow morning.

Richard and I have put the turkey in the oven, opened our presents from each other, and cleaned up the kitchen.  I've also put green beans on to simmer and set the table for 4 (no Gram :-\).  Now we're relaxing and listening to Martina McBride's Classic Christmas Album (one of my gifts from Richard) while waiting for Rob and Mary Linda.

Do you think if Rob called his grandmother and asked her to come, that she might change her mind?

It worked when he was 2, DR TCB.  She lived in Phoenix and wasn't planning a holiday trip to Ohio.  I coached little Robbie to say, "Come for Christmas, Gram," which he did beautifully on the phone.  When I got on the line, she said, "You don't play fair!"  She came to Ohio that year...

But I don't think it would have worked today.  They will go visit her in the next couple of days.

Christmas dinner 2013 is history and it was delicious!  The other 3 are watching one of Rob's gift movies, The Bourne Something, and I'm sitting the same room with them.  Mary Linda might be asleep.
