Larry, I forgot to add my congrats on the possible Holler reading. I hope it happens so we can trek on over to York and see and hear your music! It will be an excuse for an HHW get together.

I agree that any excuse for an HHW gathering is good!

If it's like the usual York readings, it will be in the late afternoon around 3:00. Then we could all head for a nice restaurant and par-tay!  I'll be ready for a drink!

Anyone interested in the Marvin Hamlisch program can view it at PBS.org. I don't know how long it'll be there, but I'd guess a couple weeks at least. I tend to forget about the PBS website, but their most popular shows are available there--free.

I like the idea of Hainsie awards. Yes, Vixmom for most creative typing. Elmore for most interesting dreams. Singdaw for best assortment of photos from the web. Laura for best nature photos.

Jane, have you tried Sambucol for colds? It's for flu, too. My acupuncturist swears by it, says it kept her healthy last winter when she saw so many patients who were sick. I like it, too--no side effects. Easy to take, it dissolves in your mouth.

Hope you're feeling better.

Good-health vibes to all!

We're thinking of heading to NYC after our nephew's wedding in Philadelphia, so could you schedule it for the first week of April, please  :-*

DR Vixmom, you will love, love, love TWELFTH NIGHT!  Just don't have a nosebleed in the Belasco lobby...

I should be fine, unlike you  I decline to get into fisticuffs and brawls in theatre lobbies

Because the Michigan game doesn't even start here until 10:15pm, I have already told Fr. Richard that I'm not going to Lima tomorrow.  I will stay home and get the desserts ready to take to a Palmer family gathering tomorrow evening at DN Lauren's home.

Go, Blue!

I will be able to hear the fireworks when anyone scores from my house.

I didn't even know anyone from your house was playing!

so I will get to see the show from two completely different perspectives

Great presents. Did they each know that the other one had gotten you tickets?

no -  we exchange with the rest of the family on  Christmas Eve and then  the Vixfamily exchange gifts on Christmas morning  -- Vixdada was quite anxious to know the date  of the tickets and seemed much happier when I  told the date   the next morning I knew why!

Tom, yes Vixdad was laughing over some of the accents - I told him he should give them credit for even trying especially the children he was quite impressed with your performance however!

Good evening!   We had a high temp of 62 three hours later it 37 degrees with 41 mph winds.  We all knew it was coming so today people were buzzing around like crazy, washing cars going to parks doing everything they could outside.   I checked my tire pressure, vacuumed out the car and ran errands.

Before that, I reclaimed the counters in my kitchen and the dining room table from the sprawling clutter that had taken over.

I slept for 10 hours last night which was wonderful  But, I had a really disturbing dream about staying at a hotel and a gunman came into the lobby/restaurant and started shooting people.  I was in my room and didn't see it, but heard it. There was a police man outside my door and told me to leave the building, so I did.   I went back later to get the cats (don't know why they were staying at the hotel with me) and they had already cleaned up and Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel was polishing the floor with a Zamboni. I couldn't find Boo in my dream, but was very glad to see her when I woke up.

TOD:  I watch the Tonys, the Golden Globes and the Oscars, that's about it.  If I'm bored and there's a show on, I may watch, but usually not.

I really don't take any of the shows seriously.  I don't think they really decide what is best, but I have seen a lot of movies that I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for the nomination.  And some of the smaller films or indie films that get nominations probably wouldn't have been in the theater here without the nomination.

I just happened to have my Kindle hooked up to my computer and I "bought" it (free is always good)!  I don't know when I'll get to it, but I have it.  Thanks, Jennifer.

I've been home, just watching TV and burning DVDs and eating...basically doing nothing before I have to get ready to usher tonight for Harlequin Productions' The Stardust Christmas Blizzard.  It's supposed to be pretty good.
