This seems appropriate for the weather outside, which is indeed frightful:

I've been enjoying all the snow reports. So much so that just before going to bed last night I thought, "I should see how much we got." Oops. I do sometimes forget where I am.

LOL!  Yesterday, I had to pull open the blinds just to make sure it wasn't snowing here.

Oh, and I'm doing a Goodreads Challenge this year. I'm going to  try for 50 books.   I think I can do that.  I always have a book going, but have never kept track before.  It will be interesting to see how many I actually read

Goodreads is such a good way to keep track of your books. Also you can adjust your challenge as the year progresses. Good luck!

Thanks Jennifer, I started using it a couple years ago, but wasn't doing a self challenge or trying to track the number read in a year, so I lost interest.  I think this will get me to keep using it

When you do the challenge it does encourage you to really keep track. Ha, i've only read 1 book so far this year.

I really like to keep track of all the books coming out that i want to read. It is great for that.

Grilled hummus and carmelized onions:

I thought that said grilled humans and carmelized onions.

Oh, admit it, you thought it said that, too

It didn't?

It's been along day and I am home.  Waited over 30 minutes for a goddam bus at 27th and Sixth Avenue. I am still not amused.

It sounds like they're going to be meeting or breaking records as far south as the Gulf of Mexico.

You will be lucky someday DR CILLA LIZ.  I, too, love snow....and I am so glad I don't have to go anyplace....today....tomorrow is a rehearsal, but it is not mandatory if we are snowed in....and tonight and tomorrow we expect wind chill temperatures of 30-40 degrees BELOW zero.

Yes, I love snow days.  We are suppose to have the -50 wind chill, but no snow.

-50 wind chill??  I would never leave my bed!

As of right now, I counted 130 closings in the area listed on a local tv station website.  I called Edith, we were able to contact all the clients set for appointments tomorrow and we also will be closed. The HIGH temp tomorrow is supposed to be -7 with wind chills between -30 and -50.   I'm really happy that everyone is closing and staying home.  It's the safest thing to do.  By next Sunday it will be 38 degrees.   This too shall pass

Does that mean you want to cancel your order?

No, no, that will make it easier to transport.  And I can always nuke it.

LOL, you aren't supposed to nuke it.  It's cream cheese on crescent rolls with raw vegetables.

Our record low is an air temp of -25 for today, we won't be anywhere near that, but the wind chills are the problem here

Downton Abbey reduced me to tears at least three times in its 2-hour slot, but the last scene with Carsen and Griggs was the clincher.

Our niece Lauren is, DR TCB.  She was there 3 years ago as a student athletic trainer with the Miami University football team.

Back from the show, and will have to catch up on Downton tomorrow.

The show was really delightful. 10 singers, a narrator, a nine-foot concert grand, and a string bass. I imagine it is sort of what the Kritzerland at Sterling shows are like, albeit with a few more performers. The Gershwin songs were all great, as were the performers, and imaginative arrangements. The stage was set up at the back of the main stage, and the audience (about 300, I'd say) were seated in chairs placed on the stage, with our backs to the house. This is part of an "American Songbook" series, which would be worth exploring for the remainder of their shows.

And home in less than 5 minutes!     :)
