While working I was listening to Joan Morris' AFTER THE BALL.  How I wish I could sing like Joan!

DR Elmore, as soon as "On the Banks of the Wabash" began, I was dressed (in my mind) as Helen Gant ready to take my place for the Act One curtain!

I wish we'd had a better leading lady. I wanted Bette Davis.

Let's do it again - I'm old enough to play the mother now!

You could do it!

Poor Billie! In 1976, i had no possibilities for that role except her, and she was never as strong as I wished.

Made a pecan cobbler today. It will take all my willpower not to eat all of it. It came out much better than I had expected.

Hello from freezing NoVa (Northern Virginia).  It's in the teens now.    It could be worse.  Haven't talked to DR Kate, but I heard that Buffalo may get up to 3 FEET of snow in the next couple of days.

Didn't do any writing before the noon rehearsal.  Today's rehearsals went very well, and I chatted with our host, a really nice guy - have to now write a little patter for him.  Then I had a Cobb salad and a bagel.  Then came home and wrote about two-and-a-half pages, maybe three and will do three more later tonight, along with the patter.

I am scheduled for a rehearsal on Thursday, so hopefully things will improve by then.  I have LOTS of material to read for the play - I feel as if I'm back in school.....oh my....

Currently it is -9 degrees with a real feel of -29 degrees.

AND I have to start reading....and finish learning my lines.

I enjoyed the videos very much!

JRand, it's better here, still 17 degrees here at 8:13 pm and on the way to getting warmer.   Hang in there folks, it will get better

Article in Daily News about marriage of Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/lily-tomlin-weds-longtime-partner-jane-wagner-article-1.1568794

Nice!  Lily Tomlin performed here in Olympia, and I ushered for the event.  The house was full!  Harlequin Productions, a local theater group, is going to next do The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.  Lily didn't do this show when she was here, but it was a wonderful evening.

Lily spent a lot of time in Paducah, Ky., when she was younger, so she has a fondness for the state. When I was at the University of Kentucky back in the early 1980s, she spent a week doing workshops of various versions of "The Search ..." I saw four of those and each one was different from the others. It was wonderful watching Lily, Jane and their people work through the week.

Lily was really giving to the students in the theater program. Yes, she was there for feedback, but she attended classes, she listened to the students and asked questions that showed she was interested.

I will be glad when it warms up enough that I don't have to run all the taps 24/7.

I mean, it's nice to image that I have gurgling fountains throughout the house, but it also makes me want to pee constantly.

David, you are one of the funniest people I have never met.

Morning, all! Thanks to everybody for their kind wishes yesterday.

Hope folks are staying warm. Had a 10-minute walk in to work today, and was taking inventory of my extremities when I got in. Fortunately, all were present and accounted for.

TOD: "Psycho" is the only one that comes to mind right now. We really need some daily topics that are more up my area of knowledge. Surely, everyone here wants to discuss late-19th/early 20th-century Jewish philosophy and sociology, right? :)

We covered all that in 2012.

I don't know why, but I'm still at work.  I actually haven't been working for the last hour (I'm on my own time), just got distracted and was surfing the net.  Don't worry...NOTHING inappropriate!

I've written about four pages, I think.  I actually took the beginning three pages of chapter four and put them back in chapter three, so I actually have to start chapter four anew, hopefully tonight and hopefully I can get a couple more pages done.
