Topic of the Day:

Of course, the Holy Grail reissue would probably be the Sherman Brothers album...with all the fixes that need to be done.

BK, what about a new follow up? The Songs of The Sherman Brothers, version 2.0! You could record new songs, and even feature your new song with Richard. And if you had or could get the original charts, you could even re-record some of the most egregiously "produced" tracks from the original album.

Total fantasy, I know, but there's always hope.

Woke up at least two hours too early, but there wasn't anything in particular bugging me so I just laid there and rested and finally got up one hour early.

Today, more work on room organization, which should put it in a better place than it's been in quite a while.

BK: I've searched Amazon and eBay and a couple of other sites and am coming up with nada on my search for the UMBRELLAS score you referred to the other day. All I'm finding are a few sheet music selections. Nothing at all urgent about this, but someday I would love to see whatever it is you've got!

In my own MOOsings early this a.m. I suddenly smelled the coffee (at least half an hour before I'd be making it) and realized I'd be a total idiot to miss the Encores! LITTLE ME.

Dr Elmore: When would you be in attendance, and may I propose a mini-HHW get-together? Will I find tickets still available? How about DRs Ben and vixmom et al?

Good morning, all! I slept well, although I was up and down several times last night dealing with too many bathroom trips
I KNOW! TMI!!! and I woke up to a hot radiator. Yep! After the really, really cold spell, I have heat in my apartment. Oy!

This morning I have physical therapy, and following that, depending on how I feel, a possible trip to City Center to help Joshie with a fix. I also need to make a trip to the NYPL. but I may of that tomorrow after lunch.

That's my day. More coffee!

DR ChasSmith, I hadn't even thought about LITTLE ME! It's performance dates are Feb 5-9, and since I cannot afford a ticket at the moment, I'll probably just be at the dress rehearsal on the 4th. That said, I have no huge plans or kinks in my schedule for that period, so an HHW gathering is god at nearly any time.

I would like to see an "all-star" recording of "The Wiz". The original cast album is missing a lot of the music. The only people I can think of right now are Jennifer Holliday for The Wicked Witch of the West and Stephanie Mills (The original Dorothy in The Wiz) as Aunt Em. As for the others whoever I leave that open to others

As for the reissue:

Wasn't there another album you recorded before you left the other label that was never released? Donna McKechnie?

Otherwise I would second the Sherman Bros album with the missing Guy Haines track and perhaps get permission to use the original cover design.

Schools in the area are closed for the 4th day....tomorrow we expect temperatures in the 40's and RAIN....so all of those people NOT doing their jobs clearing the streets can get a little rest from driving around and talking on television about what a good job they are doing.

TOD: I'm gonna cheat a bit on this one.

For the new album: "A Real Nice Party," a solo album featuring my grandmother Ruth singing her original song parodies. She used to regale family gatherings with her rewritten versions of Berlin & R&H songs, including a Jewish version of "The Girl That I Marry." Unfortunately, she passed away before I knew most of the originals and most of her lyrics never got preserved.

Can't think of a reissue that I'd like to hear right now.

Reissue: Maybe Jeepers Creepers, which is one of the few of your albums I don't have.

New: A complete recording of any of the shows featured on the first Unsung Broadway that hasn't since been recorded, including Welcome to the Club, The First and 1,2,3,4,5 (or whatever it's called these days).
