I love Central Pastry! In the mornings, when I'd go home to check on Dad, I'd stop at Central Pastry for an apple fritter or a cinnamon-sugar twist and coffee for breakfast.

I received a boat load of Punjabi films on DVD this week. And I have more coming. So many new releases. I don't know if I will be able to watch any of them this weekened, but I hope to.

Actually, the only major thing I have going on this weekend is attending the 1st birthday party for a friends son. That is Saturday evening.

I find castrecl discussions very exciting at times, and there's so much wonderful information - but the subject of whether SAVING MR. BANKS was an honest realistic work is puzzling me. Larry said it beautifully when he said FUNNY GIRL is no more the story of Fanny Brice's life than it is the story of Larry Moore's life - I'm paraphrasing, and Larry said it better than that, but I can't find the exact quote. Hope i got the idea Larry put forward right.

I loved that comment of Larry's. Now it's moved on to Meryl Streep, misogeny and anti-Semitism. And I loved the response from one of the women posters about all the condescening men asking if Streep is qualified to address the subject of misogeny.

Well I have been in my mobile home since Monday.

We have had quite a time of it here in West Seneca, NY.

For an interesting look at Miss Streep's comments, a blog from someone who has worked at Disney and knows things. What I find wrong about Miss Streep's remarks is that she never knew Mr. Disney, doesn't really know the history of anything, quoted a letter completely out of context, and, for me, made a dope of herself. While her aims may have been noble the result certainly wasn't and while it's easy to take these potshots NOW, the world was a different place THEN and most of the facts belie just about everything she said.

There are a lot of asses posting on castrecl. For a lot of these idiots, i don't bother to read their posts; I delete. I suppose on some days I'm one of them, but i like to hope I'm at least fun to read.

DRs, I am back from a very frustrating trek to the Public Library around the corner on Amsterdam. The first flor people are morons,there's no guide posted on what to find on the four floors, and the second floor collection of books is pathetic.

Does any one have a [iano-vocal collection of Dolly Parton songs? I need copies of "Nine To Five" and "Here You Come Again."

BK: Agree about Streep's comments. But consider the little girl inside...the betrayal she felt when she learned that a beloved figure had disdain for women in the workplace and that Disneyland (not just the place) was not looking at boys and girls equally.
