Tuesday morning greetings!  Another blustery day here in SW Ohio.  You know it's not good when the TODAY SHOW shows a picture of Cincinnati and CNN shows Butler County.  Staying in all day, working on travel plans and AAUW.

Thanks to everyone for the vibes for last night.  The preview went very well....we had about 30 people in the audience....

A few missed lines....and Hecuba - the star of the notes on Sunday - decided she wanted to watch the show by standing at one of the entrances completing blocking the way.....eventually during Act Two, she moved.

The audience liked the show....but the tone of the show.....horrible things being told with some humor....really made them wonder how they should react...which is exactly what Tim the director was going for.....

It is really strange to feel that mixed energy from the audience....something I have never had experience with...but it is a lot of fun.

HOWEVER....I think I have to miss rehearsal today because of the weather!

Thank you for the vibes!

Because I need a laugh today, the Cincinnati Men's Chorus posted this photo of Dolly Parton. I love her. but she was not having a good hair day!

Has she ever had a good hair day?

Have you heard this violin?  It's sizzling hot!

A product, no doubt, of that great Italian violin maker Prosciutto!

I also like what Dolly say about Porter when they had their rancorous professional breakup:

I knew Porter had balls when he sued me for a million dollars and he was only paying me $30 a week to be on the show.

TOD:

Eating out:  If grits are on the menu, then that is a given!  Bacon or sausage as a go-with, plus scrambled eggs.
If grits are not on the menu, I'll go with hash browns (with onion, please).

If I'm home with time on my hands and all ingredients at the ready:  Ditto the grits, bacon and eggs.

Otherwise, I love Belgian waffles with maple syrup and bacon.

But, by and large I am not in a cooking mood in the morning, but I will drive to La Farine for a morning bun, a scone or a chocolatine (or all three!!!).  Or I will drive to Arizmendi for blueberry muffins.

If it's brunch, I'll have whatever the waiter recommends.

I don't know from film music, I'll be the first to admit it. Most often, I don't even really notice the scoring when I am watching a film - which is, I suppose, part of the point, when it is skillfully done.

Which is why I was so startled the other night, when we watched the film Silkwood for the first time. I noticed the music, all right - but not in a good way. I didn't like the music, didn't feel like it was creating the right mood for what I was watching, and in fact, it took me out of the film experience and made me notice it each time it appeared. I can't recall ever having that reaction before to any film. I looked up the composer afterward - Georges Delerue. I know he is a well-known and respected film composer, so I was just really surprised. And of course, I speak only for myself and my experience with this one film. Perhaps if I had seen it a different day, I would have had a different reaction. It was, in keeping with today's topic title, odd.

Thanks...I think....DR CHAS SMITH

Now I want to play my Ethel Goes Disco LP.

My friend John Baughman used to work the early morning 4 a.m. shift at the local radio station in Greencastle....and he always started his show with Ethel's disco version of "There's No Business Like Show Business" until the farmers complained that it made their cows nervous....he switched to Bing Crosby and the cows were once again contented.

I got locked out last evening.  Fearing that it was my WIFI, I turned off the computer and went to bed.  Now I see that we were down for a little while at about the same time.  Hopefully that was the reason.

I have had that same problem with the "Shuffle" being turned on, when I don't remember touching it.  It usually happens after I have downloaded a new album.

No, these and other things -- software, electronics, you name it -- definitely change themselves.  And I, for one, am mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!
