I'm up, I'm up.  Had the alarm set for nine-thirty just in case but got up at nine.

We just saw a report on the local news about the weather trouble in Atlanta. Our local FC office has been closed for 2 days because of the weather.

I'm starting Jury Duty tomorrow so I won't be around these parts. I'm not taking the laptop, just my e-reader.

So DR TCB is not going crazy - the HHW server issues are still recurring, last night and this morning.

Thanks DR JOHN G.....just not sure if I should attempt a 70 mile round trip, although the manual says as long as the CHECK ENGINE light is not blinking, the car is fine to drive until I can get into the garage.

AHA!

Thanks to DR MBARNUM, I now own:

A pressbook from The Boy and the Pirates....most entertaining.

A German horror film entitled The Lake of the Dead

AND  a Sunday supplement from January, 1955, featuring Summer's Newest Bathing Suits Now!  The color cover features a quartet of beauties modeling said suits, including Miss Allison Hayes.

One critic's reaction to the new "Brokeback Mountain" opera:  http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/30/arts/music/lyrical-cowboys-in-love-on-stage.html?ref=arts&_r=0

Thanks for posting this article, DR singdaw!  I'mfollowing the various recent premieres and wondering if there will be future life for this , "Silent Night" (which I liked very much), and "The Harlot's Progress."  I'm guessing that "Brkeback Mountain" will get a DVD release since a lot of this company's productions make it to video.

I'm also amazed at all the interest in this opera from the musical theatre queens who would rather die than listen to "The Rake's Progress" or a Menotti opera! Oh, that's right; they're musical theatre queens!

I didn't realize that they had turned DR MBarnum's life story into a contemporary opera!       ;)

I've been experiencing weather vicariously by calling (and texting and FB messaging) friends and family on the east coast.

We haven't "had" any weather beyond mild days and moderate temperatures for weeks, it seems.  Except...it showered a little bit this morning.  Nothing but a trace compared to what we need.

Still, it doesn't "seem" like weather compared to what the rest of the country is experiencing!

And everyone has confirmed. All ten actors for ROBERTA are hired, one more averted mental breakdown.

I glanced at the above post and thought DR Ben said he was starting July tomorrow.

I would settle for April. I am sick of the snow and the cold. At least it is supposed to be a bit milder this week (but still cold).

I have a lot to read over the next few weeks.  Five books came in for me at the library. And I got approved to read three advanced reader copies of books I am very excited about (three of my favorite authors). These books come out in April and May. So I don't have to rush. But i'd like to read them in February.
