Well NBC does everything on tape delay. We are lucky, in Canada everything is shown live even if it is at 6am. They do have prime time shows at night as well. I would rather watch or record events when they are on then see a pre-packaged taped piece.

One reason I have always liked the CBC coverage.

Are you able to watch the CBC where you live?  Besides CBC, we are also having live coverage on TSN (the sports network), TSN2 and Sportsnet. So that is up to 4 channels at once that will be showing different sports.

It will depend on how much NDSU pleads with Marcil not to publish...

The other channel not so sure... The Fox channel is that... fox

I myself am battling a grand cold, and have so much phlegm blocking up my system that I can hardly breathe.      :P

M-o-o-n, that spells phlegm.  Yes, yes, Lawse yes.

Greetings, all!

BK, congrats on finishing your book!! That must be an amazing feeling, and as you say, deeply emotional all wrapped in one.

It's been snowing for about 12 hours here in freezin' frickin' Maine and it shows no signs of stopping. I'm betting that our 3 person cast plus our 4 person band will outnumber the audience, no matter how hearty they are. Can anyone at the theater say "Snow Day/errr, night?", please.... oy.

I'm really ready to come home. 12 days, but who's counting?  :D

Larry, and others interested in 50s and 60s recordings of plays that have yet to be transferred to CD. Good news in the offing. I remember taking this record out of the Minneapolis Public Library and listening and listening.

I do love those 50s and 60s recordings.

My first experiences hearing that one were at the library, too, just listening to it there (it wasn't at a library where I could check it out).  I finally got the LP set many years later.  Still have it, and I keep meaning to take it off my shelf some evening and settle into a good listen.

Well, the tail end of the snow/sleet/rain/sleet/shit/sleet/snow/etc. has almost passed over us.

That aforementioned tail end always dallies longer than you think it should, so I'm waiting about an hour, then I'll bundle up and go out and start the snow blower.  Not looking forward to it.

I love how they're (apparently) replicating the original cover design for the Virginia Woolf LP -- complete with the STEREO "360 Sound" logo.

I don't think I ever listened to that recording of Virginia Woolf. I remember seeing it at the library, but the movie was verboten in my house because of the language. (I don't really know that my parents ever saw it, they were too busy having their own epic fights, but someone else told them about it. Those same people hated the language in the G-rated 1776 because they firmly believed that John Adams never said damn.)

There were several Columbia recordings of plays about the time of VIRGINIA WOOLF: Brendan Behan's THE HOSTAGE with Julie Harris, Richard Burton's HAMLET, and THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES, as I recall.

OMGosh, DR Elmore, what a devastatingly sad story.

The people who raised those bullying children who taunted this boy are to blame the most.  What's wrong with folks who teach their children such nonsense?

So, Elton John is going to make an animated movie version of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Why?

Why not? I'd rather see the animated cartoon instead of the over-inflated mess it's become onstage.

I assume Elton John and Tim Rice are still very close, with the Disney work they did together so successfully.

And the Road to Eldorado, too. But do we really need it? I guess that's my question.
