Well, you've read the notes, the notes were from Shanghai, and now it is time for you to post until the Shanghai cows come home.

on Sunday there were comments about The Muppets doing a car commercial.

There was a comment about Darth Vader doing one.

Well he did one for Volkswagen a few years back

Good morning, all.

Oy!

That's just a general Oy.  I'm sure we can all use one.

General Oy.  I've heard of him.  Probably some character in Star Trek.

Good morning, all!  Did I have a weird night!  My last dream was very peculiar, involving my friends Judy Kaye and David Garrison, some sort of community center, and walk up Sixth Avenue in the rain. I kept having to go back for my umbrella. It's nice to be out of bed.

So, I'm shortly risking life and limb to catch a bus for Toyland. I have things to accomplish and the sooner I'm there the better.

Has anyone given thought to the Feb 9 HHW get-together? The weather forecast looks foreboding, and do we know how many folk are coming out for this?

DR Ginny, I hope things go well with Rob's interviews!

Loved the detailed report on THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI.  The notes made me want to watch the movie immediately.  The last time -- perhaps the only time -- I remember seeing this one was at a very nice Welles film festival at USC, ca-1981.  At this point I remember very little about it.  I have the existing DVD (which I only acquired last year and haven't watched yet), so by golly I plan to watch that tonight.  And I'll put the new Blu-ray on my list.

Yes, we need to plan what we're doing on Sunday.  The weather forecasts are varied on that one.  If it looks to be at all precipitous I'll take the train into the city, so I must needs study the schedules because I have two lines to choose from.  Naturally, the closest and most convenient has the fewest round trips to Grand Central, especially on weekends.  I'll get back to y'all on what it looks like I can do as far as arrival and departure times.

Well for the first time in two years.....I fell down.  I was walking Precious down the driveway which is on a medium incline....and down I went....landed on my left hip and elbow....and now my shoulder hurts...

Owwww!  Nothing appears to be broken, but I think I will hurt for a couple of days.

Feel better, DR JRand63!

And greetings from Toyland! I am waiting on a paper delivery, and I have to be here tomorrow for the piano tuner.

Good morning, all!

Healing vibes,  Jrand!

TOD: only movies that I've seen that come to mind are Chicago and The Rock. Guess those are my two faves, although I wouldn't put either on my top-anything list overall.

We actually had a dusting of white stuff this morning. Don't know that it was snow. It looks kinda like Dippin' Dots.

First saw "Lady from Shanghai" on the big screen and it remains one of my favorite noirs, probably because it operates on its own rules. Looking forward to seeing this new release.

From today's notes: "It’s funny when the only person you can really understand in an entire film is Mr. Schwarzenegger."

I shouldn't eat when I read the notes, I almost choked on my apple when I read this. :)
