An item from today's news:

Greetings, all,

Well, we survived 22 straight hours of snow, and today the sun is shining on a balmy 20 degrees. I finish here a week from Sunday - 10 days, but who's counting?  :P

BK, I loved hearing little Brennley's rendition of "Over the Rainbow" - so thoughtful and real and beautiful. Thanks for posting that. I'll think of it during these last shows when our "Ira" talks about suggesting to Yip and Harold how to end the song, when they were at a loss for it.

So, the dusting of white stuff (not really snow, but more like pretty sleet) that blew across parts of San Antonio this morning closed down a few freeways and trapped a co-worker. It took her 2.25 hours to get to work this morning because the cars in front and behind her refused to move. Ugh. We really can't handle this stuff.

on Sunday there were comments about The Muppets doing a car commercial.

There was a comment about Darth Vader doing one.

Well he did one for Volkswagen a few years back

http://youtu.be/R55e-uHQna0

I remember that...but that's different.  It's really cute.  The Muppets' commercial is just the Muppets selling cars. :P

Well for the first time in two years.....I fell down.  I was walking Precious down the driveway which is on a medium incline....and down I went....landed on my left hip and elbow....and now my shoulder hurts...

Owwww!  Nothing appears to be broken, but I think I will hurt for a couple of days.

Yikes!  I hope you feel better soon, Jack!

I'm unaware of that kid having any debilitating disease, unless it was back story on how he got the gig.  In the commercial, he was a Vader-obsessed kid trying to use the Force on everything.

I had to Google him...he didn't get the job because of the medical issue, just that he had a medical issue and then made this very popular car commercial.  THIS video/article was when he had a follow-up surgery about a year after the commercial originally aired.

DR Elan, I agree with you. The whole premise is cockeyed, designed to let two actresses chew up some scenery. I don't believe it for a second.

So, I'm crabby. My delivery has arrived but the tenor coming for a ROBERTA score has not, even though I tol;d him between 10am and 2pm. It's almost 4, and no word. Damn!

Ah!  I never saw that story and was unaware he'd had a heart operation.  Cute kid.  GREAT Ad.

DR Elan, I agree with you on the quality of night, Mother. It's not Norman's best -- and how it won the Pulitzer is beyond me, but Anne Pitoniak was wonderful in the original.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  No good reason for not logging in here sooner, except that I have a severe case of cabin fever.  I found an app for my iPad which allows me to watch Olympic events live, so I spent some midday hours watching the men's and pairs' short programs in the new team skating event.  It will now be interesting to see the same material covered by NBC in prime time.

Well, the weather here in Salem, Oregon 97301 seems to finally be turning to winter. Unfortunately, it has turned the freeway between Albany and Salem into this:

I have not heard any reports of injuries, but southbound lanes are closed.
