I am in shock, for the very first time I searched a book to recommend, Cockroaches by Jo Nesbo, to my eBook library and the book came up with the option for me to do this, plus if they purchase the book I will automatically be put on the queue.

A friend of mine is reading that now and loving every word.

Good to hear.  I think it will be awhile before I get this but with luck I will be one of the first in the queue if my library gets it, which I think they will since they have most of the other books.

That is good that it let you "suggest" an e-book.  I just discovered another review site called edelweiss. It is similar to netgalley and lets you review e-books before they come out. But they allow you to write the reason why you want the book.

Last week they put up 3 of my favorite authors' new books. And I got approved for all 3. I am a happy camper as these books don't come out till april and may.

DR Jane has your library got the new Lisa Gardner book yet? Fear Nothing. It came out January 7th and my library still doesn't have it. :(

My appointment went ok yesterday.  I am doing the 48 hour heart monitor thing.  I've had a couple weird reactions to things lately so they are checking it out.  I don't think they'll come up with anything from this.   I'm beginning to think it's a food allergy of some sort.  Anyway, the cardiology department authorize me wearing this contraption for 30 days, but I'm taking it off after 48 hours, as that's all the DR said I need to wear it and it's sort of a pain

I am really disgusted with the health care I'm seeing.  I haven't been there in a while. The office is all computerized so they spend all the time looking at the computer and asking the questions in their form....god forbid you should add something that doesn't have a place in the form...or imagine them  actually looking at you when they talk to you...

I think one firm's online application form is a nightmare. It is probably used as a tool to weed through applicants..

So far I have not pulled out all of my hair..

I'm scheduled for a physical next week so I fasted and asked if I could do the blood work now so I can go over it with the doctor next week The response was "No, you have to do that in conjunction with a physical and we don't discuss results we email them to you"

I've pretty much decided I"m going to cancel my physical and find a different doctor.  I really want a doctor who will talk to me.  This one would only talk about the specific issue I asked about. He sort of blew off any other concerns I had.  It was very clear to me that if they couldn't put it on the billing program for this particular visit, they won't talk about it.  ARG!

My reactions have all happened when I happened to be drinking alcohol, so the assistant in the cardiology department told me to go drink.   I did have a drink after work tonight, but didn't have the reaction.  I'm wondering if it's MSG.

That does cause weird reactions in some folk.

Actually I think I'm fine.  He did tell me several things it isn't based on my description.   I don't think it's a heart thing either. I was actually offended at the way they said that 48 hours was all they needed for the heart monitor, but you never know maybe we should authorize it for more than the 48 hours because what if it happened an hour or two later and it wasn't much more money to go for 30 days.   It's all about money and not about care.  I'm disgusted
