My oldest nephew's wedding is today. Luckily the weather is nice, and it should be about 80 degrees (which is good since the wedding is outdoors).

Speaking of THE FRONT and the subject of blacklisting, I highly recommend a book by Patrick McGilligan and Paul Buhle titled TENDER COMRADES.....it is a collection of interviews with blacklisted writers, directors, and performers....one of the best books I have ever read on the subject.

Good morning, all! I slept late and this morning I had a lot of emails concerning the ROBERTA recording sessions to deal with. I took a vocal score to Encores! last week for our rehearsal pianist, who wasn't there, and this morning - the day before our first rehearsal - he asked about his score and what we're rehearsing tomorrow. Oy!

DR TCB, I like your new avatar, and I don't want you retiring from acting. There. I've said it. I cannot force you, cajole you, or bribe you, nor do I wish to. I simply think it would be a loss to you and the community. You're too young to retire.

The best biography i've read lately is Paul Kildea's Benjamin Britten: A Life In The Twentieth Century. I like biography, autobiographies not so much, particularly the me-me-me self-serving ones. Some of the other ones that I liked very much:

Saturday morning greetings! We had 4-5" of new snow yesterday, which Richard and a neighbor and his son have now cleared from our driveway. In about 45 minutes I'll head over to the local coffee shop for lunch with my newly-appointed AAUW nominating committee.

We got about the same DR GINNY. I finished shoveling a path for Precious on the deck....and nice big space in the backyard for her.

And the driveway is being cleared right now.....by the neighbor boy with this snow blower.....just the way I like it.

Temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be in the 40's, so we may get rid of the rest of this.

When I was younger, I loved Frank Capra's "The Name Above the Title" and the series of memoirs from Maya Angelou that started with "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings."

In recent years, I enjoyed Zora Neale Hurston's "Dust Tracks on the Road," "Before the Parade Passes By: Gower Champion and the Glorious American Musical" by John Anthony Gilvey, Larry McMurtry's three volumes of memoirs ("Books," "Literary Life," "Hollywood"), Elmer Kelton's "Sandhills Boy," and "An Autobiography" by Anthony Trollope.

I'm enjoying the new Fosse bio right now.
