Elmore, it may make you feel better to know that I once called my cell phone only to find it ringing in my pant's pocket

It doesn't make me feel any better, but it sure made me smile.

Jack, you can't find CastRecL because it's not an Internet site. It's a moderated e-mail list serve, much like the old e-mail sites of years ago at the beginning of the Internet.

The overall theme of the list is musical theatre but there are sometimes off-topic messages. You have to send a note to the moderator with a verifiable e-mail address. He then approves you and you start receiving the e-mail, either as they are sent or you can choose to get one e-mail every day which contains all the e-mails posted that day.

There is a regular coterie of posters (Larry among them) and there are hundreds (or perhaps even thousands though I doubt that number) of lurkers who may post once a year, or less. I am one of those lurkers. It's sometimes very interesting but also sometimes when someone gets a bee in their bonnet it can get tedious. There are some people on the list who feel they know everything there is to know about every aspect of musical theatre. They also feel there is only one opinion, theirs, and that opinion can't possibly have anything wrong with it because it's their opinion. All other opinions need not apply. That's when it gets tedious. If you get the e-mails as they come in you learn which people can be deleted without reading their post(s).

Thank you, Ben. As another of the lurkers and one who has almost withdrawn my name on several occasions when it has gotten tedious, that's an awfully accurate depiction of the entity known as castrecl.

Oh, I did have to do something from my end on the Nook.  Once the book was downloaded it still didn't show up for me to read it.  She told me how to add it back into my books.  The 2nd person I talked to wanted me to add all my books back in.  I don't know how the Kindle works but on the Nook that would have opened every darn book back onto my home page-no way was I doing that.

on my kindle when i download a book it just appears on my kindle. And then i sort it into a corresponding folder (by author or genre).

Unlike you I don't have that many books unread.  Once I read them I put them into the "Nook Cloud".  All I ever see are the unread, or currently reading, books.

I have all my e-books on my kindle including the ones i've read. Once i read them i move them into read folders (in various genres).

You're right i do have a lot of unread e-books. I had bought a lot of free ones when i first got my kindle. Plus i have a bunch of  deals (99 cents or $1.99 ) for books I really want to read at some point.  With all of the series i read there are so many books that i'm wanting to read but just haven't gotten the chance to yet.

Cats are interesting creatures.... I have not quite figured them out.. They can be sweet and then they can be moody.

I wouldn't say moody, just good at letting you know if you have displeased them :)

Holy Communion, Batman, some of the grammatical/verbal mistakes in this story are hilarious. Thankfully, I have never mixed up the words Eucharist and uterus.

Funny.  With constant use some of these might become acceptable foods in the dictionary.

Making a tiny bit of bow tie pasta (about four ounces) for a snack - butter and cheese.  I only had a ham and Swiss and a handful of onion rings.

we were going crazy looking for the portable handset for the house phone one day -  apparently "someone" was looking out the front window while talking on the phone , finished the call, placed the hand set on windowsill and drew the curtains....

It must have been one of the neighbors as no one who lives in this house has ever admitted guilt

We, like many offices, are closed today for President's Day.

I had the day off, too.  I was just going to stay home and watch TV, but my friend Margo called and asked if I wanted to go to the movies with her and Marsha.  I said, "Sure!"  We went to see "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit."  I'd never seen any of the Jack Ryan movies before, but this was pretty good.  Very tense action and mostly believable (for the most part) and the story made sense (for the most part). ;) It did have the droning mood music but otherwise, a pretty good movie, I thought.

Well, my missing cell phone has me all akimbo; I just moved my physical therapy up an hour to 11:15 since i am so unprepared to get out of the apartment.

DR George helped me with this photo from page 12 of the October 1981 issue of BLUEBOY magazine, where the hot new cabaret act "Just Good Friends" was featured on page 12, before the photos of the naked porn stars took over.  We were featured as the thing to see in Manhattan.

While I was working at Tower Records around 1983-84, one of the clerks kept telling me, you look so familiar but I can't think why.  I assumed it was because of the act or from working at Drama Book Shop or the Men's Chorus. One day as I was leaving Tower Records he yelled out, you were in BLUEBOY!

Oy! the things we do for fame!

Glad to help!  That is a great picture, too!

Topic of the Day (just a representative sampling):

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Evening Primrose (even though it's TV, it's a soundtrack)
The First Nudie Musical
Heaven Can Wait/Racing With the Moon
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
The Little Shop of Horrors
The Missouri Breaks
Two For The Seesaw

thanks George!  I now have Chitty Chitty Bang Bang stuck in my head... again!  :-)

And I thought I would share my earworm!
