I have been a nervous wreck all morning waiting for my sister to call. My niece was doing a retelling of a story for a competition at her school (in front of the whole school and the parents of the kids doing it).  I just found out that it well very well.  They are just waiting for the results.

I am sorry you couldn't be there.

I wouldn't have wanted to be there. I was nervous enough just thinking about her speaking in front of 500 people.
They ended up judging the french and english speeches together. And they only gave the prizes to grade 4s (she is in grade 3). And they gave two of the prizes to the English speeches (hers was in french).  It's much harder for an English kid to give a speech in french.

It was just an honor for her to be chosen to speak. Only two kids from each class got to do it (one french and one english, but the same kid cannot do both).

What a great experience for her to participate in this.

Jane, do you think you sprained your wrist somehow? It's very easy to get a sprain. (At least for me, as I'm a klutz.)

I don't think so, though certain motions like turning my wrist make it hurt it doesn't feel like a sprain.  I'm wondering now if it is connected to the tingling I have had in my thumb & fingers for so long it has become almost normal. :(

I washed dishes and it wasn't bad but now it feels worse.   I have a large pan to be washed which I will leave for Keith to do.

Fortunately it isn't terribly painful but if it doesn't improve soon I will need to get it checked.

I think the gluten free fad has been helpful to people who really need to be gluten free with increased labeling on packages and in restaurants.

Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre is presenting another Broadway-bound musical, A ROOM WITH A VIEW, in April.  My question is, do you really want to open a new muscial on the same day that the Titanic sank?

I wish I had it to read right now.  I just finished Jo Nesbo's book "The Cockroaches" and don't want to begin the other book I have checked out, BEHIND THE BEAUTIFUL FOREVERS: LIFE, DEATH, AND HOPE IN THE MUMBA UNDERCITY by Katherine Boo.  I expect to enjoy the book but since it is for my book discussion group which isn't until the 11th I want to wait to begin it.

I'm currently browsing my eBook library for available books.  I think I shall read AUNT JANE'S NIECES because of the title.

Thank you to DRs JRand, Jeanne, Dan M, Elmore, Jennifer, MBarnum, KevinH, ChasSmith, and Vixmom.  Uncle George did, indeed, live a full life.  It was quite tragic between 1988 and 1992, when he lost both his first wife and then their daughter, who was only 44 when she died.  After his remarriage they moved to New England and we only saw him once, in 2006 when he came to Ohio for Richard's mother's 90th birthday party.

It sounds like it but how, in my left wrist, I'm not sure.  Years ago I was convinced I had it in my write wrist and not believing the first doctor I went to another specialist for a 2nd opinion.  They both said no but the pain has never gone away.  This pain is different so I suppose I should check into it again.  I'm not sure if I should see my regular doctor first, the orthopedists, or someone else.  I will probably begin with my regular doctor just because of the the tingling symptoms.

I stopped browsing the library after checking out two books and putting one on the wish list.  I also removed two different books from my wish list, that became available, deciding I don't really want to read them.

I have a feeling in my left  wrist  bone as if it were bruised  it has been bothering me for months  - its a mild  pain nothing deabilitating  - my doctor said it is most likely arthritis
  :(
