THE WEATHER REPORT AND OTHER MATTERS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a weather report and other matters, and now it is time for you to post until the weathered cows come home.

Dear HHW Family

I can use your prayers. My father is very ill and I'm flying back to Montreal this morning. I am hoping I can make it back in time.

Thank you all

On to the TOD:

On ye olde iPod: lectures on Revelation
In the DVD drive: Bill Cosby
Youtube playlist: bunch of annotated chess matches (trying to improve my game so that my 8-year old doesn't thrash me so soundly)

Well, after BK gets his cupful of rainwater, that storm is going to bring March in like a lion here and we're going to get slammed once again, probably to the tune of around eight inches of snow.  I don't know what it has in store for vixmom.

We are "so" close to being done for the year.  But not close enough.  The winter precip started in the first week of December so it's been three solid months of up and down, warm and cold, then cold and bitter cold, with snow and ice storms from HELL.  Not to mention, the absurd shortage of road salt that I don't recall ever happening before.  The state actually declared an emergency so they could get help finding more salt, and on the retail level there has, of course, been nothing in stores since well before the last big storm.  And like it or not, March is still winter in these here parts, even though we've gotten off lightly in March the past few years.  So keep those seat belts fastened.

TOD

Nothing, till I do some shifting around of things in the movie/music room.

I recently moved my CD shelving into another room so I could put in another good sized set of shelves for movies (and it was shocking -- shocking -- to see that even with that expansion, all I accomplished was getting the stacks off the floors and other furniture).  I also moved one small rack to another place so the subwoofer can go where that was sitting.  The reason the subwoofer has to go where the rack was sitting is so I can put a small table/shelf/thingie where the subwoofer was sitting, and move a couple of components over to that, putting them into a more direct line of sight for the remotes and thereby improving the quality of my viewing life.  Okay, my sitting and viewing life.  The Oppo Blu-ray player, for instance, has a notably narrow angle of sensitivity, and you can always tell when I'm using that remote by the colorful language emanating from the room.

Then I'll recalibrate the speakers and further shuffle things on shelves...and so it goes in one big game of dominoes.  Once all that is done later in the day, I should be able to gather and report a handsome TOD.

Last night, I supped as an invited guest at the Women's Club of Minneapolis. And no, I didn't go in drag - they do allow men in, and even as members.
The setting was lovely, as was the meal and the service. It is located adjacent to St. Mark's Cathedral, Loring Park, and the Walker Art Center.

The Guthrie Theatre used to be here, too, but they have relocated a bit to a new facility.

Good morning, all! I slept well and I slept in. This is a day with absolutely no commitments, and I hope to have a nice day to myself.

I will shortly head to the post office, not the one run by the idiot manager in my postal zip code but the one at 68th Street and Columbus Avenue, which is run much more efficiently. When I get home, i may do some laundry. I like the new washers in the basement laundry room, and I like the convenience.

TOD:
DVD:  30 Carry On movies, Hot In Cleveland (season 3), several BBC collections
CD:  Dearest Enemy, Eileen, Guy Haines
VCR: not tonight, Josephine
