I am so sick of politics that I don't even want to think about political shows.  Thinking about politics makes me want to vomit on the ground.

The cat lady is 23 cats over our local ordinance.   We have a stupid ordinance that says you can only have 2 pets of the same species without a special permit.   So you can have 2 cats and 2 dogs and 2 rabbits and 2 snakes and 2 gerbils and 2 birds....and so on, but you can't legally have 3 cats or 3 dogs.

You can have more than 2 fish.  You don't have to license them

We have a big book sale like the one Ginny is talking about.  You can also donate records, tapes, vcrs and dvds and they sell them at the book sale.  All proceeds go to friends of the library

The "big" ones I usually get to around here are Newtown (Booth Library), Redding (Mark Twain Library), Westport Library, Southport (Pequot Library), and then there's my local Danbury one which is smaller.  I might try to branch out this summer, take in some others around the region.

Yes, it's Saturday, and tonight we SPRING FORWARD!

Before getting out of bed this morning I set the travel clock I keep next to my bed.  I have already set the quest room clock as well.  We really don't look at those during the day.

Wow! I want a quest room.  Is that where you plan you next quest?  Does it have maps and globes?  :)

what is your name?

What is your quest?

What is your favorite colour?

I would kill for that barbecue brisket right about now.

There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- like the Texas version of that -- even the ones I've had in the Dallas area, which probably don't hold a candle to the stuff DR John G. knows.

In addition to the movies and TV shows mentioned earlier, I would add:

THE IPCRESS FILE (More conspiracy with a British version of MK-ULTRA and Michael Caine)

I have always loved THE IPCRESS FILE though I think of it more as a spy film vs political.  I find it interesting how you categorized it.

DR TCB, re: that picture of Fran Drescher. Did you mean where is she playing in Cinderella?  If so I think that she is currently playing the Stepmother on Broadway.

DR Jane, I started the Lisa Gardner book today.  Some of my goodreads friends who have already read it say it is one of her best.

Only 3 dogs are permitted in Ashland.  I can't find anything about multiple types of pets but apparently a total of 4 dogs and/or cats is considered a kennel which needs a special licence.  I think people are fine as long as their neighbors don't report them, which did happen to a women with 4 dogs.

DR Jennifer, re the US vs UK HOUSE OF CARDS:
the story is BASICALLY the same, ie, ruthless and ambitious politician is climbing the ladder, "assisted" by a young female reporter and also his "understanding" wife. But the two are very different. The US vs UK venues dictate many changes, plus the characters are quite different. Kevin Spacey and Ian Richardson play the leads with subtle but significant slants. I would not say that if you've seen one there's no point to seeing the other. Quite the contrary, I find the two takes very interesting.

Vixmom may wish to chime in here, as I know she's seen them both.

I think she would be good as the stepmother.

TOD:
The UK HOUSE OF CARDS was long my favorite political drama, but last year I saw the BBC's THE HOUR, which I loved. It's now a contender for first place.

I think I need to rustle me up some lunch. One thing I'm sure: it won't be brisket.
