Excuse my ignorance, but what in the HELL is Randy Newman's "Faust"?
It's a musical that he wrote more than 20 years ago, about the same time Jimmy Buffett was writing "Don't Stop the Carnival" and Paul Simon was writing "Capeman." It got staged once and I don't think it was really ready for the stage. It was turned into a concept album with Newman and Linda Ronstadt and a few others. I've got a copy, listened to it a few times.

Here's a Wikipedia link about Faust:

(Funny thing, but I started reading Gertrude Stein's "Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights" this morning.)

It's the story of Faust, see?  And it's by Randy Newman.

I do not stream, baby - my television is not hooked up to the inner web in any way.  I have Starz & Showtime, and I can't even watch all of the things available there.....

I'm back from therapy. My walking therapist Morgan is stuck in Indiana because of a canceled flight, so there was no walking today.  I did walk home from my post office stop and i will shortly walk the the bus stop to head downtown.

Has anyone checked on DR TCB?

TOD:

I don't stream from Netflix; I rent DVDs.

I was told from a  customer service person at Netflix that titles become available quicker on DVD than they do for streaming.

Actually, I'm an off/on customer of the service.  I'll wait for several movies that interest me to become available before I renew my membership, then after I go through those films, I suspend my membership again until the "well" refills.

And we figured if we could stream we would join Netflix again.  I like your idea of dropping and renewing.  We tried that but still couldn't get the movies we wanted.

Now that the new CD Burner has arrived, I've been burning like crazy.  It's a Samsung and it's working splendidly.

TOD - I have streamed ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK from NetFlix and watched it on my iPad.  Richard watches a lot of British mysteries the same way and Rob uses his Kindle Fire to watch Star Trek episodes.  In fact, it's the availability of those episodes that prompted Rob to give me the go-ahead to dispose of the videotapes that no one seems to want.

I want to watch on my nice large tv, not on an iPad, which I don't own anyway.  Keith and I also watch most shows together.

TOD - I love Netflix streaming.  Right now, I'm almost done with season 2 of House of Cards.  I like the series, but I have a hard time remembering "relationships" and things like that.  I'm at a point now that a certain character now seems to be associated with another main character and I don't know why.  It's rather addicting and most likely, I'lll watch the entire series again before season 3 just so I can keep things in order

I've also watching "Orange is the New Black" as well as some back TV series.  The movie selections are hit and miss.  More often than not, they don't have what I want to watch.

I sent our E&T DR Jed a message on Facebook, and will check on DR TCB today. I also emailed DR TCB, telling hi I'd contacted Jed and asking him if he would email me back.

It seemed odd to email him since has hasn't been online with us along with the fact that his voice mail for his phone is full. If you're lying on the floor in a coma and can't answer your phone, you're not going to be typing at your computer.
