I'm up again.  Tired, but up, wishing I didn't have to go to the lunch meeting or Jason's show tonight - but the latter at least will be fun.

I think they build in the shortcuts to Netflix on Blu-ray and TVs to make it easy and I'm sure Netflix pays for that privilege.

Happy Monday, all!

TOD:
I rent DVD's from Netflix, but I did take them up n their free month like you did, BK.

So far, I watched one film and some episodes of The West Wing, which I somehow missed when it was on. But I doubt that I will stick with it, because I don't have a device that links the streaming to my television, and my laptop's sound just isn't good enough to not have to be ear-plugged into it for the whole time. Not my favorite thing to do.

I may watch some Orange is the New Black before my free month runs out. But I have some European sites where I find TV for free, so I won't be paying Netflix for streaming anytime soon.

Much to do this day. I'm off and running...

I want to thank everyone for the prayers and condolences this past week. It means a lot to me. It has been a difficult time this past week and I am very grateful.

It is nice you could stop in.  Sending you a big hug.

Mainly for financial constraints, but also for other reasons (which some may term wariness of Big Brother), I do not have cable or streaming, or internet, other than the "hotspot" I can piggyback from the main clubhouse here in my apartment development.  I surf the web using an anonymizer and do not like to be tied into the vast electronic web (satellite, phone, radio, etc.) that unfortunately surrounds us, as ubiquitous as the air we move through.

OK, folks, a really important interrelated set of questions: Best bread and best cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich?

Our AAUW budget for 2013-14 projected book sale income at $9000.  We actually made $8985.65.  Close enough?

I haven't had grilled cheese in years.  When the boys were very young I was in a playgroup and one of mother's would make us grilled cheese using cinnamon raisin bread.  It was delicious though I'm not sure how much I would like that today.

Hmmm, now I'm in the mood for a grilled colby jack cheese on a good sourdough or peasant bread sandwich.

Sounds pretty darned good!

There are no great substitutes for real cheese, but the Daiya brand isn't too bad.

Will that vegan/faux cheese melt?

DR John G. - some of them do.

The Daiya does a pretty good approximation of melting.      :)

Sounds like a vegan Wicked joke. Elphaba is given something given milk to drink and she curls her fingers into quote marks while moaning, "I'm 'melting.' I'm 'melting.'"

And, we may have an opportunity to exceed our budget projection.  We've been sharing that space with an organization whose staff wants to shop the leftovers tomorrow!

Thanks for the congrats!

There are many vegan items I think taste wonderful, cheese is not one of them.  I would rather go without.

My friends in the Netherlands are getting a new Bernese Mountain Dog Puppy.  They went to the breeder with their 2 year old daughter and two adult Bernese Mountain Dogs.  I am having a blast looking at the photos & videos she has on facebook and reading the stories.  She is also a photographer.  My favorite photo is of her little girl bent over hugging one of the 5 week old puppies.

Question for the HHW people who live in New York or go to NYC

My sister is considering going to NYC on Tony weekend. She love theatre and was wondering for musicals if most stars would be more likely to be in or out on Tony weekend.  She was figuring out on the Sunday. But i thought i`d ask.
