Hello, everyone!

I've been missing here for much of the day, lost in audition prep and the long drives each way to manage it. It went very well, thank you. Now to relax. Ahhhh....  :D

I just saw the line up for the next Kritzerland show, BK! What a stellar group and what a fun show this will be. Can't wait!!

I hope everyone has been having a lovely Tuesday. Time for chow and coffee.... :P

Well, I'm off.  Tonight is the monthly Theater Artists Olympia board meeting.  It's also the last meeting before our Toga Party fund raiser on March 22nd, which is also the shared birth day of Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber (but not the theme of the Toga Party ;) ).

Anyway, be back later!

TOD:

Kerfuffle

From the gazetteer, which itself is a fun word:

Oconomowoc (city in Wisconsin)
Ishpeming & Ontonogan (cities in Michigan)
Erkenbrecker (street in Cincinnati)

There used to be a restaurant in Cincinnati that named their burgers for city place names.  I loved ordering the Erkenbreckerburger!

I was going to say I've been in Oconomowoc, but I checked first, and it was Manitowoc!

That restaurant sounds familiar, DR Ginny.  How long ago was it around?  Wait -- that wasn't Rookwood Pottery (is that the name?), was it?  Is it gone?

There was a guy where I went to school who wouldn't stop saying that.

I don't think I ever did see it in print, though, so thank you, DR George.

Another Topic of the Day word:

Antidisestablishmentarianism

My sister and I learned this word when we were kids, but I don't remember exactly how or why...probably from our dad. :)

We wore that one out as kids, too.  I think it was known as the longest word in the English language, and there was something so easy, and yet satisfying, about learning it and saying it.

I was just watching a documentary, no, "informative concert" (?) on Arthur Schwartz and his music. I love these. It's from a series of shows recorded in 1982, featuring various songwriters who sang and told interesting stories about their careers and how some of the songs came to be. I was surprised to see that this one included two of BK's singers, Nancy Dessault and Judy Kaye. There's a CD of Dorothy Fields that's the same sort of things--most interesting.

Singdaw, it's great that you're able to attend so many musical events in your new venue. Was this the case in Connecticut, too?

I wonder if BK has started the BBC HOUSE OF CARDS yet. Ian Richardson is wonderful!

I'm off to finish THE POLISH BRIDE, one of those sparse, dark, "simple" films that I like so much.

. . . . this one included two of BK's singers, Nancy Dessault and Judy Kaye. . . .

Nancy Dussault's 1980s sitcom, "Too Close For Comfort" with Ted Knight, is returning to TV on the broadcast channel AntennaTV next month.  Remember, Cosmic Cow?

Im way behind and wont try to catch up tonight. My roof was in need of repair. The place where the coons got in came loose and a couple of the slate tiles fell off. Yesterday I called the roofing company and they came right out and repaired it. Good thing because it rained all day today

We used to spell antidisestablishmentarianism backwards. Just because we thought it was cool.  I guess that makes me a total nerd lol

DR Jeanne - we are very fortunate. We are going to a lot more concerts here because they are so much easier to get to, and the prices are lower than they were in NYC.
