Bob Thomas has died.

The end of an era.
Wow. The celebrities he met and wrote about are legion.

Bob Thomas had a nice interview with Frances Farmer during her "comeback" in 1958.

Happy Friday, all!!   :D

Ah, yes, Nordic Noir. My fave of those is the trilogy of films that began with THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I read all three books and watched the three original Swedish films (with subtitles) and found them so superior in intensity and terror factor to the English spoken one (as much as I do like Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara).

Nothing in the DVD tonight. Have to wait for some Netflix to arrive. I wasted a couple of hours bored out of my skull with The Lone Ranger, purely because I thought it might be interesting to see what Johnny Depp does. But lord, what a waste of film and time and buckets of ill-used money. It was right up there with the last completely senseless sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean in overkill and an indecipherable, nonsensical script. Oy to the Nth power!

I'm already having great fun working on the new Kritzerland material, as I get to play in a couple of BK's great "What If" numbers, as well as one other hilarious send up.

My mother has a sourdough starter that has been an active culture for over 100 years.

That is really cool!!!!  I did a sourdough starter once and couldn't tolerate the smell.  It was also pointless since we still lived in LA and could get San Francisco sourdough bread whenever we wanted.

DR Jane - it is an architect's rendering - a proposal.

I'm not sure where it is intended to be built.
But my guess is that it is a retirement home for Olympic divers.

Was going to get a chocolate peanut butter thing from K's Donuts - wasted a trip over there to find zero - at eleven-fifteen - some kid had come in an hour earlier and bought every single one - about thirty.  Unbelievable.  I may just be done with them, or from now on I'll call first and if they won't hold me what I want then I won't go.  Instead I had a quick ham and Swiss on rye.

Then Grant came by and hung my two little awards but forgot the spackle, so that will happen next week when we're signing the limited page that will be tipped into the book.

Last time you complained I suggested you call first and have them hold a donut for you-lol

So, Elmore, what Porter songs are going to be in the medley?

Don't know yet. All my Porter collections are at the office.

Off to meet a friend, grab a quick bite, and enjoy me some BAREFOOT IN THE PARK.

I hope BK sees an enjoyable BYE BYE BIRDIE tonight.  That's one musical that is just tops when a high school does it well.  I enjoyed playing the piano book for one a couple of years ago, and will no doubt enjoy another sometime in the future.

My arms and shoulders told me I needed to swim today.  The pool wasn't too busy and I had a very nice swim.

Well, I must be off.  Tonight, we're having a union meeting of the library supervisors, so I have to be there since I'm the treasurer on this board as well as the theater group.  I think we're having elections tonight (or at least taking nominations).  I'm not sure but I'll find out soon enough.

Until later!

And yes, I'm going to run again.  It'll be easier to keep doing it than to quit right now. ;)
