The earthquake this morning was intense - short, though. I just did what I always do - sat in bed and kept saying, "Stop, stop, stop" until the thing listened to me. It probably wasn't the ten seconds I thought, more like six.

My library just got Gravity and Catching Fire. So it will be a big movie week for me as I'm going to see Divergent on Wednesday.

I don't actually love going to the movie theatre, as I have a hard time sitting for that long. For some reason my knees don't like being scrunched up like that.

Thanks DR BEN....yes I am charged a rental fee for my modem....but it is updated whenever I ask....

I purchased a D-Link Wireless router which should work with my modem....and I purchased a medium priced tablet with a keyboard case.....so I should be working with them both by the end of the week....

I particularly wanted the tablet to use when I am rehearsing at the theatre so that I can post on Facebook each time I finish blocking a scene or choreographing a musical number. I have to keep my friends informed, you know.

It was indeed intense--lots of shaking rather than the rolling kind. Yes, five or six seconds, rather than ten. I normally just sit still and wait to see if something more is happening. Today, though, perhaps because I was sleeping, it scared me and I was thinking, "This could be a big one," and jumped out of bed.

"Oblivipods" is the word.

A friend of mine had a phrase many years ago--before Facebook, as there were "olivipods" even then--but I cannot repeat it, as this is a family site.

Of course, DR Jennifer and DR Michael Shayne are our resident experts on the weather in Canada, but I've been to both Ottawa and Montreal in summer (July) and experienced 70s and low 80s. It was starting to cool in September, whereas in DC September is still hot, so a shorter summer than DC, but still quite ample, to my mind. But I don't like hot weather. And I'm told that British Columbia is quite temperate.
