Well it is still very cold here now. But often in April it is nice. And May. June, July and August are usually fairly hot. I would say it is 80s in July and August. And September is usually nice as well.

Monday afternoon greetings! Just now getting on the computer after a mid-moring coffee date with my friend Becky at a new Starbucks that's exactly halfway between her home and mine - very convenient! Did a couple of errands on the way home, ate a late lunch, and did some housekeeping chores.

TOD: I only have memories of 2 St. Patrick's Days - 1973, when I was in grad school in Ann Arbor and we had one heck of a blizzard. And, 1991, when we had a Japanese college student (Mayumi) staying with us and she and Rob and I made and decorated shortbread shamrock cookies. Mayumi was invited to the home of another host family that evening, so I fixed up a tray of cookies for her to take. She presented it at the door, saying, "These were made by Mom!"

The only memorable St. Patrick's Days were here at work when we've had parties...usually simple finger food on a break, but we haven't done that in several years. Otherwise, nothing special sticks out in my mind. $:-\$

Also, I do not like corned beef and cabbage. My mom is actually making some for dinner tonight, but my sister and niece are vegans, so they'll bring their own foodstuffs, and I'll bring my own, also (probably a Subway sandwich

). My parents will be the only ones eating the corned beef and cabbage.

It was indeed intense--lots of shaking rather than the rolling kind. Yes, five or six seconds, rather than ten. I normally just sit still and wait to see if something more is happening. Today, though, perhaps because I was sleeping, it scared me and I was thinking, "This could be a big one," and jumped out of bed.

When you jumped out of bed where did you go?

I think that many younger people cannot fathom being alone, and thus feel they must share EVERYTHING.

Age had nothing to do with sharing the news on FB-lol. Being alone might have. It is nice to have people to talk to when you are wide awake and can't sleep anymore. I hope you were able to go back to sleep.
