That is weird about Karen Olivo's show. I get that it was last minute. But you'd think that she would have put some work into it.

That is too bad about her foot. And surprising about the acting. She was good on Harry's Law.

Oh DR Elmore. I am so sorry about your bathroom. Maybe they can clear a way so you can at least use the toilet. I would personally go upstairs and ring the doorbell of the person who caused the crash every time i had to use the bathroom. :)

The management construction crew has arrived to clean out the mess. The super tells me they want to know the extent of damage caused by plumbers. When they cart the first round of trash out, I must go into the space and empty it of all personal items so they can work without damaging anything.

I'm glad to hear there's a cleanup/construction crew there already.  I can imagine that, depending on landlord or management company, the response could have been a LOT worse.  But they need to do a good job, and do it quickly.

For our Irish viewing pleasure last night, friends and I enjoyed DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE.

I was the only one present who'd seen it or even knew of it, though I'd remembered nothing of it, being all of ten the one time I saw it.  But we found it absolutely charming, and it shall be a staple from now on.

The DVD includes a couple of LI'L featurettes, and what appears to be the full length "Disneyland" episode devoted to the film.  All are worthy.

Thanks go to DR Elmore for inspiring the choice.  You had a crappy evening yourself, but that posting inspired a nice rediscovery here, and it shan't be forgotten.

The work continues. The ceiling cannot be repaired until everything dries, and the super estimates a week. All I'm hoping is that by the end of the day I have a working bathroom and no leaks. Then I can clean up the mess.

Do your upstairs neighbors have a view into your bathroom?

Or optical illusions so Jane doesn't get a migraine and want to barf.

Honestly folks, the optical illusion did not need repeating over and over.  Images can be removed when commenting and then I could have read the comments instead of skipping them.

Topic of the Day:  I've only been through a couple of earthquakes and a really bad ice storm.  The ice storm was kind of cool.  Trees frozen solid, covered in a layer of ice.  It was beautiful and dangerous at the same time.  Some of the trees broke and brought down the power lines.  I think that that was the longest that I was without power...five days, I think.

Ice storms are super cool once they are over.

I'm sure nobody realized it would bother anyone. Surprisingly those don't bother me at all. But strobe lighting makes me crazy.

I'm up - I've been up since seven-thirty thinking about something I might do in a few weeks, writing-wise.  We'll see how I feel.  I guess I fell back asleep at nine or so and now I'm up.

If I didn't have to scroll down, making it spin, it might not have been so bad.  I basically stopped reading all the posts and will look at them later.  I did pull up DR elmore's to see what is happening.

Hello All:

TOD:

NATURAL DISASTERS:

In January of 1977, Buffalo had one of the worst blizzards on record.

I was working at the time, we were let out early.  I was in Downtown Buffalo.  People were literally falling and sliding down the sidewalks in front of me.  I was headed for City Hall were my Aunt Betty was working.  I couldn't see two feet in front of me.

Two guys in a Four wheel Drive vehicle told me to get in.  I did, they saved my life.  We ended up going to eat at a restaurant (still open), then slept at their office.  Then they drove me home.

I ended up dating one of them.    After a few dates, he told me he was married.  I said "Don't ever call me again".
