I finally fell asleep and my heart  went back to normal   my chest just today because  my muscles were working so hard

Elmore  I have had the doctors look at this before they say my heart muscle is strong but every once in a while my heart decides to beat double time  - it is rather exhausting when it happens

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  I've been here a little too long, but I (finally) got started on a project that I should've started...some time ago. ::) I'll be able to finish the first phase of it tomorrow.  It basically involves me e-mailing all our vendors with whom we have standing orders and asking them what kinds of standing order plans they say we should be getting.  I need to find out if what they say we're getting is what we think we're getting.  We'll see how it all works out.

Until later!

Well, this turned into a very long day and evening - I had a great production meeting at LACC - and I really like our set designer a lot.  Then I came home, beating the traffic, picked up one package, and had forgotten that I had a mixing session for And the World Goes Round, so I headed over there at four and we just finished twenty minutes ago.  Of the thirty-four numbers I finessed twelve mixes, which is huge, but more importantly the rough mixes that I hated all sound so much better now and I'm beginning to have hope that the pick-up session won't be quite as dire as I feared.  More about that in the notes.

Because Easter is not a fixed date on the calendar, it is known as a moveable feast, but not in the Hemingway sense.

I dislike the term "bucket list" because it reminds me of the movie of the same name by Meathead, which I did not like.  I also do not like the phrase as used on many books "1,001 [insert noun here]s to [insert verb here] before you die".  I would rather prefer the term, "things I haven't gotten around to yet because everyday life got in the way".

One thing I regret is that I did not practice a musical instrument all that much as I had my mind on other things.  I absolutely love hearing a live performance and I really enjoyed performing when I was in the school orchestra as a second violist.  I also enjoyed being a member of the school chorus for the same reasons.  I would like to return to some form of musical performance and maybe learn a new instrument.

I would like to give more presentations on topics I enjoy.  I got a taste of that while I was a charter member of the Toastmasters club at the University of Arizona.  I was able to "perform" the "I'm as mad as hell" monologue from "Network" and also recited the "Thanatopsis" by William Cullen Bryant.

I would like to do more recitations.  Gerard Manley Hopkins has an interesting meter to his poetry that I like a lot.  Of course, since he was a Jesuit priest, there are references/allusions to religion.

Pied Beauty

GLORY be to God for dappled things—
  For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
    For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
  Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
    And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;
  Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
    With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
                  Praise him.

I would like to travel more.  Up until 2009, when I moved to Arizona, the farthest west I had traveled was someplace in Pennsylvania.  The farthest north was Plattsburgh, New York and the farthest south was Cape May, New Jersey.  I have now traveled as far west as Blythe, California, as far south as Nogales, AZ and as far north as Scottsdale, AZ.  Still not all that well-traveled, alas.

I was thisclose to kicking the bucket last year, so I am very happy to be doing the simple things every day.  After you've been bed-bound for 6 months, and having to relearn to walk, it's a miracle to do things that others take for granted.

I'm watching Jimmy Kimmel and they did a spoof of "Scandal," as if it were a Spanish language telenovela.  It was hysterical!

They had the actors from the show actually do the spoof.
