Well, you've read the notes, the notes were tuneful and hit all the right notes, and now it is time for you to post until the tuneful cows come home.

I'm still waiting to see if my amended income tax return was received.

ASK BK

some cd reissue questions

Have you ever considered reissuing any David Shire's score for The Promise or Norma Rae? I don't think the former has ever made it to CD and the latter seems to be out of print and commands big bucks.

There is a third one is the soundtrack for the Phantom Tollbooth. The only full length animated film the great Chuck Jones ever directed. I couldn't even find an lp for sale anywhere.

The fourth would be Lalo Schifrin's 1980 score for The Competition also never been on CD

The fifth would be one of Henry Mancini's last scores That's Life that I don't think was ever released in any form

and I would also like to see the soundtracks from  Pieces of Dreams (Michel Legrand), Lovers and Other Strangers (Fred Karlin) and the soundtrack (not the recreation) of El Cid (Dimitri Tiomkin)

I was surprised and fascinated to hear that the LI'L ABNER film cut a lot of stuff from the book.  Since I was but a wee thing the time we did the musical, I don't remember anything about the book and I don't have a script, so the only thing I've had to go on all these years is the film, and I never missed anything.

What isup with the cold today?  Crazy after how nice it had been. The windchill is -twelve C which is cold. And it snowed last night and was blowing like crazy. Luckily it is only a dusting on the ground now. But still.

Wednesday morning greetings!  We had a small crowd for book group last night, but still managed to chat until almost 10pm.  Today is a "tend to Mom" day...

Wednesday.

Both rehearsals went well.  Tonight we are doing some music.....and then tomorrow night we choreograph BUSHEL & A PECK....so two nice evenings.

Plus of course another rehearsal with my DWTS partners.  I saw a couple of the other routines yesterday....lots of lifts and high kicks and spins and sliding across the floor on the ass.....none of which we do.....we will have to count on personality!!!

Fascinating Laurents-Sondheim link, singdaw.

Raises this question in my mind:  Are email conversations we have with others actually their property to make public against our will?

Interesting theatre tidbit from the other day which I had missed:
http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/169206/rabbi-stephen-sondheim?utm_medium=email&utm_source=html&utm_campaign=weekly_top_posts_subject_3&utm_term=post_82221156371

I have been reading Riedel's columns on the correspondence, and to my mind, it's the first time that Sondheim has ever acknowledged the man's existence. That is why Riedel feels the need to write about this and not any of the other dirt that Laurents might have dished.

Once again, they are shooting a commercial here.  Third time in two weeks - methinks it's time for another phone call.

Good morning, all!  At 8:30 I moved my physical therapy to Friday and went back to bed. I slept in until 10:00. I had a nightmare about being in a hotel in Paris and a conference between the Man from Philadelphia and the head of the Institute for whom I worked 2001-2011. Oy!

Then I got out of bed to find two emails from Philadelphia. Oy in extremis!!!

I'm off to City Center to help Joshie for tomorrow's orchestra reading.

Someone posted a snap of those of us in the Holi fashion show and posted it on Facebook. I must say that in my western outfit I look rather more like Forrest Gump than John Wayne.

Plus, I know that the camera adds 10 lbs...so why does it look like an extra 30 lbs on me?

Needless to say, the photographic evidence of my ramp walk will not be posted here, unless some better pictures turn up! it is just too horrifying....well, except that everyone else in the photo looks wonderful...and the clothes are beautiful!
