Well, you've read the notes, the notes were blocked, and now it is time for you to post until the blocked cows come home.

Good morning, all! I would have liked another hour's sleep, but that's not going to happen.  I'll leave here around 9:00 for physical therapy, and then return here and finish up the choral medley. Tomorrow, I'll run to Toyland, scan it and send it off.

I have nothing more to report. Life is quiet for now, and I hope it remans so for some time. I've had enough excitement and tsuris lately.

Good morning, all.

Up too late last night, and up a little too early this morning.  But hey!

Relaxing and sipping coffee now, but must move on soon to working on music, and must get a lot done today.

Friday morning greetings!  We're taking it easy this morning before calling on one of our shut in parishioners at 1pm.  We'll probably go out for a late lunch and maybe do some shopping.  Service at 5:30.

DR ChasSmith, I, too, spent a lot of time in Morgantown, WV, from 1964 to the early '80s.  My aunt and uncle moved there when he became a faculty member in the WVU medical school.  They raised my 2 closest cousins there and my grandmother lived nearby for a while in her later years.  Aunt & uncle divorced and she eventually moved to Phoenix, but I have many fond memories of Morgantown and surroundings.

I am having the same problem, but I think it is just re-loading the original (flawed) version. Since it "knows" that I already purchased it, it won't let me purchase it again.

Also out for delivery today is -- finally, the thing you have all been waiting for! -- my new phono cartridge.  I discussed "my needs" with a couple of retailers and did considerable followup research, and of course ended up spending more than intended.  But I can't wait to start hearing my records on a much improved system.  I just need a quiet hour or two to dedicate to the task of taking the turntable down, giving it a good cleaning and going over, slowly and carefully installing the cartridge, doing the balancing and alignment, and setting everything back up.  Due to other priorities, this will happen on Monday or Tuesday.

The prices are crazy if you want something good.  The one I'd been using probably added $100 to the cost of the turntable and tonearm way back when, and it was considered very good -- on the "low end of the high end" scale, which is where you get some real bang for your buck and where I've always liked to be.  Well, this one is $450, and is still "low end of the high end", but it's a whole new ball game in quality and has gotten nothing but rave reviews.

$450 for a "needle" probably sounds outrageous, but that's 10% of those you'd put into a much more sophisticated turntable, and but 3% of the ultimate high end.  Yes, my fellow DRs, there are a few out there topping out at $15,000.  But would you put anything less into your $150,000 turntable?  Or even the $28,000 one in the rec room?  What would the neighbors say??

Last week there was a Playbill audio clip with 14 unnamed women singing I'm Still Here. This week they posted the answers.

Whew!  My uncle used to buy a package of needles for 99 cents.  Of course those were for 78 RPM records.....that eventually became unplayable.

Very nice to hear about the ABNER rehearsals.  Things are moving along at Guys & Dolls as well.
We are off today and will be finished blocking Act One on Tuesday.....except for Sky's scenes, since he won't be joining us until the next week.

DR ChasSmith - your post astonished me. Had no idea of the costs of a decent cartridge.
