Sad news. Actor Craig Hill passed away yesterday at his home in Madrid, Spain.

He starred in the old tv series WHIRLYBIRDS and made some rather enjoyable B movies in the early 1960s. I think he was one of Henry Willson's clients.

Later in the 1960s Hill went to Europe to make Spaghetti westerns.

Our family easter was cancelled as three different family members ended up at Salem hospital Saturday night/early Sunday morning...all with unrelated conditions. My sister, my niece Katie, and Katie's mother in law.

Everyone seems to be fine, now, fortunately.

Blake Edwards' 10 has a couple of other moments like the dog moment - one memorable one is a scene with Dudley Moore on a grassy hill. No one did that stuff better than Blake. And the filler shots to let the laugh die down were always a part of every great comedy. I learned that lesson in Nudie Musical, where there were some laughs that went on so long that you couldn't hear anything that happened after - so we added some shots - but in our case, a couple of times the added shots doubled the laughs. Go know. The problem is that when these films are viewed at home by the kiddies who've never seen them, they don't understand why it's that way and they find the films slow - because in today's so-called comedies they NEVER do that - they don't care if stuff is missed if the film is lucky enough to actually get a laugh.

DR TCB....eventually rehearsal for almost EVERY show turns into G/D rehearsal.

Tonight we are doing the Havana Scene....and I don't really think I will have enough people to stage anything....so it might be an early night.

Yes, I am sending DR VIXMOM the city of LA.....I hope she enjoys it.

Good morning, all, and Happy Earth Day,

And Happy Birthday to DR Sandra!

It seems I picked up yet another reading of yet another new musical. One rehearsal last night and we're presenting it this evening?? Yipes! Actually, it's a kid's piece and quite funny, and it's already been sold. The reading is for the writers and the production team, and we present it at CSUN this evening.

Then tomorrow, one session for the table read that happens this Saturday, a one nighter in Colorado on Thursday, back home Friday, the table read Saturday, and a rehearsal for the vampire piece on Sunday, Sheesh! I sound almost as busy as BK!! I said almost.

I agree, Blake Edwards did that stuff so brilliantly. Some of the moments in the Clouseau movies: I think of them I still laugh.
Almost too many to mention. One fave - the laughing gas scene with Clouseau disguised as Albert Einstein in the castle.
And he slid some of those into "Victor, Victoria" as well - that moment when the detective sits on the stool in the club after the melee.
"Be careful". "I'm always careful", replies the detective. And a half second later, he disappears behind the bar when his stool breaks.

I always loved the interrogation scene in The Pink Panther (I think) when Clouseau is walking around the room telling people he solved the crime and keeps tripping and then comes to a climactic moment and a woman screams because he stepped on her toe.....

I do recall that, when we watched BRIDESMAIDS on DVD, I was laughing so hard that we had to put the film on "Pause" for a couple of minutes.

If you saw the movie, I'm sure you know what scene I'm talking about.

I saw BRIDESMAIDS in the movies with an audience and it was the same...very loud laughter during that scene and most of the movie, too.

I LOVE that scene (I believe it's from one of the sequels). It has one of those lines that always makes me laugh. After he destroys the piano trying to swat a bee with the mace stuck on his hand, the woman cries, "That was a priceless Steinway!" "Not any moooah." say Clouseau.

I did see PORKY'S at a theatre, but it was a drive-in...so I guess I wouldn't have heard the the audience if they had roared with laughter.

I remember very. very little about that movie, so I haven't a clue what in it was funny.

Young Frankenstein tech week. AND Spring Break, which makes sleeping in after a long night a plus. However, I'm finding myself catching up on "life" this week, so not much of a break. It's cool, though. Only a month and a few weeks left of school when we get back.

Vixdad has a very infectious belly laugh, and when he is really amused he folds up, tears running down his face, helpess with laughter

He was already in laugh mode when Sister Mary Amnesia collapsed back on he bed revealing the soles of her shoes with "Left" and "Right" written on them, and they were on the wrong feet
