CD's here as well.

I am going to work on some sound effects for STEEL MAGNOLIAS.

I have asked a friend at the radio station if he can make the ANNOUNCER dialog excerpts for me, and he is working on it.

I don't like to wait until the last minute.

It is very strange to be home on a Monday evening.

DR Ryacko, thanks for the notes on Barbara Cook. Sorry to hear she's in a wheelchair, but not sorry to hear that her voice is still so beautiful.

Tuesday morning is our trash and recycling pick-up, so Richard and I just hauled a mountain of stuff down to the curb.  In the process, I found a couple of Rob's toys in the garage that I've cleaned up and will take to the garage sale tomorrow.  We are also going to Dayton tomorrow to donate a carful of business-appropriate men's and women's items to Clothes That Work.

We are very thankful to Rob and Mary Linda for the incentive to do all this purging!

It's been fascinating I'll say that much.  At nine-twenty I had a call from someone regarding the letter sent this morning.  However, the person calling was not someone who'd actually gotten the letter, but the supervisor of someone who had.  He informed me that I'd been sent a letter on May 15, one that had to be signed for, via UPS and the USPS and that I'd never responded to it.  I informed him right back that no such letter had ever come to me by any delivery service and that since the address it would have gone to is one where they sign and deliver to me, that it simply either wasn't sent or somehow both UPS and USPS lost it, which I found doubtful.  He said he'd have the person to whom it was addressed (well, one of ten people) send it to me via e-mail.  Ten minutes later, I had it and finally had in writing what it was all about, which was exactly what I thought it would have been about from day one, but which no one had ever approached me or told me in any way, shape or form.  The person who sent it asked me to call at my earliest convenience, which I did.  Never mind that the letter, whether sent or not sent (certainly not delivered) was dated over two weeks after the whole situation had begun - that seems preposterous to me.

Anyway, I had a twenty-minute conversation during which I gave context and tone to everything that was in the letter.  The person took notes as I was doing so.  In the end, I think it was pretty clear to the person what kind of fellow she was talking to.  She was very nervous at the beginning, probably because of my letter, but by the end I think she just wanted to put a period on everything and get out of it as gracefully as possible without further incident.  She said she had a few more people to talk to but thought it could be wrapped up within two weeks, and that if I had any documentation to send it to her.

As it happened, I did, and I sent it along, as it gave credence to my side of things and showed perfect evidence of tone and how misinterpreted and misrepresented it had been.  But thanks to the attorney, I also said that two weeks was two weeks too long, that she now had my side of it, had talked to many people and that the only one she should talk to is one person and one person only (not me, obviously) and that should put an end and a period on it.  And she actually stated to me on the phone a statement that as far as she could see that after being given context there was nothing to really be done.  So, hopefully this will come to an end very soon.  The person did apologize several times.

Keith and I are huge Jason Statham fans since watching THE TRANSPORTER.  We also enjoy action movies which he has been typecasted, however, we would watch him in anything.

Good morning, all! I very much enjoyed the Tony Awards with major exceptions, but I have to say it really offends me when the band starts playing to tell a winner to get off the effin stage yet we had to put up with two rather poor numbers from shows that may never get to Broadway next year. It reminded me of aTpny broadcast around 1981, when a Jule Styne song from "Treasure Island" was performed. Well, I'm still waiting for that show!

I vaguely remember that.  But I very distinctly remember Maureen McGovern singing "Tell Me on a Sunday" from the show to open the next season, "Song & Dance."
There were there previews that time with the three composers each at a grand piano. Who was the third?

cy coleman playing a song from "13 Weeks To Broadway"  the song was Hey You In The Back Row.  I may have the titles slightly askew but they are close.

I love Idina Menzel. And love Alan Cumming (loved the Cabaret revival when I saw the revival last time it was on Broadway).  I do love Hugh Jackman but prefer Neil Patrick Harris' Opening Numbers.  loved seeing Les Mis.

I didn't love many of the musical numbers (Alladin). But did love Beautiful and Carole King.  Loved Idina. Loved the musical that won.  I think the Rocky number could have been interesting, but not how they did it.

The thing I dislike the most is that I want to see more of the stuff at the end. I like closing songs. I liked what Hugh did with the Best Actress nominees. But it was so late. I don't want to see those things at 11pm when I'm tired. And I hate that the most important acceptance speeches always are rushed because the show is going long.

Please excuse me if this was mentioned yesterday, but I haven't started to look at yesterdays posts.

Didn't anyone notice the Chris O'Dowd (Best Actor nominee) when he lost, he took a swig from a flask?

After reading a comment I did check out DR Cilla's post:
Quote
Actually I'm not sure there was a lot of time to be that sad, there was also an asthma attack, a car accident, two drunk women who fell on water in the bathroom resulting in a trip to the ER at 3:30 AM and 9 stitches in a forehead, a grandson who's flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Sioux Falls and he was re-routed to Minneapolis, so there was a late night 6 1/2-7 hour round trip drive to get him so he would be there in time for the funeral..... Let's just say it was quite an eventful gathering.  It was just one thing after another and we ended up laughing a lot.

Oh my!

And.....Randy, who had the flight issues...missed his flight home and ended up staying an extra day....it just goes on and on

Actually, it all made my own family's drama seem very mundane and boring.  So, I called my sister, who I don't talk to very often and sent her a belated birthday gift, The Bridges of Madison County CD.  I think she'll love it.
