A lot of hullaballoo and hoo-ha over the way the Tonys handled the In memoriam slot.

I could have done without Jennifer Hudson and Sting, personally. There would have been plenty of time for the In Memoriam segment.
Exactly! Although there's no real correlation, Sting had a PBS special for his show a couple of months ago. Anyone who watched that are probably a lot of the same people who watch the Tony Awards. There's no need for that kind of duplication.
Just my 2˘. 
The real point is that the broadcast ran nine minutes over its three hour time period, what difference would another two minutes and forty seconds make.
