Well, you've read the notes, the notes were beyond the valley of the tired, and now it is time for you to post until the tired cows come home from beyond the valley.

Topic of the Day:

Alan Menken (and lyricists)
Ahrens and Flaherty

These are the first ones that I can think of.  There will be more, I'm sure.

Last month, I bought the iTunes download of the new live, concert version of "West Side Story" for $11.99 because the physical CD was going to be about $47 dollars from Amazon.  Amazon now has it for $37.52.  However, San Fransisco Symphony's own website sells it for only $29.95!  AND if you order it before June 16, you get free shipping.  I went ahead and ordered it.  I really do want the physical CD (which has a 100 page booklet), and the iTunes download was only $11.99, so it's all a bit less than the original Amazon price...and I still have a bit of my income tax refund left. :)

And now, I must go to sleep.  Today, I'm taking my car in to get serviced.  I need to bring it in by 8:30 am.  The place I'm taking it is not the dealer.  It's pretty close, though.  They're just probably about a mile away from me.  We'll see if they find anything.

Good night, all.

Today, I am the recipient of surprise tickets for Orchestra Hall. So at 11:00am, I will be taking in Mahler's Fifth Symphony. Amongst other things.      :)

Thursday morning greetings!  Another rainy day here in SW Ohio, good for puttering and purging.  I may have to shop for Mom later today, too.

Good morning, all!  I stayed up too late and as a consequence got out of bed later than I prefer. I'm ready for more coffee.

My morning is uneventful, and then I will go to the NYPL and look at items in the Otto Harbach papers. I really hate the fact that the hours are later and I cannot be there earlier than noon.  On the way there, I will stop at my doctor's office and drop off the EMG results. I think I have another errand as well. At the moment I've forgotten what it is, but perhaps it will come back to me.

Okay, more coffee!

OK, I've done some AAUW work, ordered DN Lauren's (and Jim's) wedding present, and now it's time for a basement walk.

Good morning, all.

I can remember one crazy but oddly not-unpleasant dream, which involved me being about to embark on an unplanned 30-mile errand that had to be accomplished on some kind of motorized bicycle...in the snow!  But the weather was actually quite nice so that didn't seem to be a problem.  There was to be a longer trip, or something, following that, but I think the dream changed course before any of that actually happened.

You know what?  Now that I think about it, it's just as well I'm awake!

Coffee!

I had a weird dream, too, last night, something about summer theatre and a diner/shake shop. The only person I remember in the dream was Ben Davis.

OK, I've walked 'round and 'round the basement for 30 minutes, folded my laundry, and emptied a couple of shelves for Rob and Mary Linda to use for storage.

Didn't mean to scare everyone away with talk of OJ, but hey they were posts

I found it very interesting the trial was a learning experience for you and your perspective of the trial.  I always wondered if the prosecuting team was picked for their inability to win the trial out of fear of a riot.

From DR Cilla:
Quote
Johnnie was inspiring, not about the OJ case but about Geronimo Pratt, who he spent his entire career trying to free.  He believed an innocent man had been convicted and eventually was able to get him released.

This is admirable & always nice to see the other side of a person.  On an emotional level I find it difficult at times to understand how trial lawyers can defend someone guilty of such a horrendous crime.  Yes, I obviously believe OJ did the crime.

The G/D performance was okay last night....we had a bus load of 40 people who were arriving late, but they did call....so I held the curtain five minutes, and then I talked until they all got in their seats.  It was not a joyful way to start the show.

Just for the record, I wasn't able to reach HHW or Kritzerland for a good hour and a half, except for one brief interval when I was able to post just that.

Good night, all.

Well, they found something.  The right outer tie rod needs replacing and it will need an alignment, but it'll only be about $325.  Not too bad.  They'll be able to get it done today by 3:00 or so.

They always find something, DR George.

Always.

But it's good when it's not something horrendous, that's for damned sure.
