Watched a bit of All That Heaven Allows and Kismet, both looking and sounding lovely.

DR Laura, very sad to hear about the priests who were attacked in Phoenix.  Have they arrested anyone?  Are people in other churches concerned about their safety?

Tonight is show 4 of 7.....so we shall see what we shall see.

Hopefully the audience will be in a jollier mood.  We are having glorious and beautiful weather which certainly helps.

I shall return.

Break a leg as you resume your G/D run!

tomorrow is the annual womens dinner where  the youth of the church  entertain the ladies  of the church while the(the ladies not the youth)  eat their chicken marsala or roast beef

for the first time in about 9 years the Vixter won't be part of the entertainment  as she has moved out of  "youth" status

But they aren't really comfortable.

She couldn't return as a "Guest Star?"

when you're 16/17 you can sit in anything and be comfortable

they actually asked her to   but they were so disorganized that after several attempts to  rehearse with them she respectfully bowed out

I do not have high expectations for the entertainment portion of the evening

I know people like to make fun of that Kismet movie, but I love Dolores Gray in it.

Watching CNN's series on the 60s.   I'm so over the 60s that I thought I wouldn't enjoy this, but I am.

By the way, DR John G., there are four times during the year to get Criterions at half off:  the two B&N sales in July and November, and Criterion.com has a flash sale in something like February and September.  Those are only for a day or two at a time, if I recall, but they're well worth catching.  In my state they don't charge sales tax, and whatever the minimum is, I easily meet it for free shipping.

I bought a new car today. Most exhausting spending all that money! I'd forgotten how many G/D documents one has to sign. I'm usually a patient person, but by the end I was ready to say Oy and Vey and take your documents!

I bought an Audi. Used. Even though it's a certified car with a generous warranty, I still had it checked out by my own mechanic. He raved over the car, but he did actually find something wrong. It needs an alignment, so I'll have to take it back to the dealer one day and get that done. It's not a big deal, but they'll take care of it.

This car has so many bells and whistles that I'm still learning how to just lock and unlock it.
