Well, you've read the notes, the notes wore a hair shirt, and now it is time for you to post until the hair shirt-wearing cows come home.

Has anyone seen the series called Dolly & Em? It is a six part that showed on HBO Canada. I presume it is/was on HBO in the US. A mixture of people playing themselves and actors playing other roles. Emily Mortimer is playing herself doing a movie and her best friend Dolly is her PA.

The other day, DR Sandra took a pain pill for a wisdom tooth extraction. She said when she woke up after a great nap, she had the word "Autopsy-turvy" stuck in her head.

We think this would be a great song title.

I watched NON-STOP.  Everyone did a nice job - I thought I knew who the culprit was, but I was wrong.

As DR DRUXY wrote yesterday, the ending was a bit much....but since I like Liam Neeson, I sort of liked the movie.  But I never have to see it again.

a wisdom tooth extraction

I am having one of these myself on Thursday.  I hope I get a song title out of the whole affair.      :)

I do not like the whole idea of a hair shirt.  I do not like it, Sam I Am.

I am reading on the Internet that Meryl Streep is to play Maria Callas in a film adaptation of Terrence McNally's Master Class for HBO.

Good morning, all! I have nothing to do today and I slept in.  I had a disturbing dream but I can remember none of it.

Last night DR Jane wrote:
What a shame after all the trouble you went through to pick up the old spare set.

I didn't pick up the keys because I needed them; I picked them up to close the relationship.  My home is no longer theirs.

So, there's been no word from the super, DR vixmom.  That will happen later today or tomorrow. If he's heard from the landlord, which I suspect will be today, I suspect he will take a day to calm down before talking to me. He's gto a temper, and I also spoke about that to the landlord.

FARGO ended well last night.

I hope there isn't a second season.

It's not that I don't want the surviving actors to have work, it's just that less is more.

Or, as Milton Berle would say, "Always leave 'em laughing."

A DR mentioned the movie 12 Years a Slave. I watched this a few weeks ago and really liked it. I was okay watching it. But I then watched the Butler a couple of days later. And both of those together were a bit hard to watch.

bk, since you seem to be addicted to watching bad thrillers lately, I'd love for you to watch Grand Piano [2014] and get your reaction to it.       :)

Last night I popped in THE INNOCENTS, but stupidly started way too late to get all the way through it, so tonight I'll back up to wherever it was I began nodding off and finish it.

I never read the James novella, so will do that soon.  I'd also like to get back in touch with Britten's opera.  They did it when I was in school, but that one wasn't a piece I was studying, and all I retain is the vaguest memory of playing the celesta behind the set.

I haven't seen many of the DVDs of the Britten opera, but I did like this one from the BBC very much. My friend Diana Montague (our  Madame Roberta) plays Mrs Grose.  There was a Czech film made in the 1980s with actors miming to the Colin Davis-Phillips recording that used to show on A&R when it was still an Arts channel and I thought it was creepy and evocative.

Criterion just announced that they are coming out with a new Blu-Ray/DVD version of THE INNOCENTS in September.

Wednesday morning greetings!  After being out in the heat yesterday, both in the morning and early evening, I crashed very early.  Lots of puttering to do the rest of the week...

I surprised myself and made about 1:45 into 12 Years as a Slave. I'll hopefully have time to watch the last half hour tonight.

I heard it was horrible, but I'm actually kinda interested in seeing Tim Rice's From Here to Eternity, which will be shown in theaters this fall:

I haven't seen it yet, DR Druxy, so I can't say. But since it appears to have been released direct to video, it can't be too great. Hence, it fits into bk's current viewing pattern.    :)
