DR Mike Barnum:  You mentioned Rad Fulton the other day.  One of his films - "No, My Darling Daughter" -- aired on TCM yesterday or the day before.  I have it on my DVR.

It starred Ralph Richardson, Juliet Mills (her debut film), Michael Craig and Rad Fulton (who was her love interest through much of the film).

A bit offbeat...did you see it?

JRand actually brought that up, but I can say that I have seen the movie and enjoyed it!

Well good, it sounds like Kinky Boots would be ok for her to see. I was just worried if there was a lot of swearing or obvious adult situations. The rest of the subject matter is certainly no problem.

Thanks for the input!

Pretty wonderful story on how LaChanze, whose husband died on 9/11, ended up singing for the dedication of the 9/11 Museum:

Don't miss the video at the end.

I may watch the latest Austen spinoff Death Comes To Pemberley tonight. There's no mail today yet, so I'll see if anything else turns up.

Guess I'll be watching THE INNOCENTS late again tonight, because I nearly forgot I'm going over to the local bijou shortly to catch the "Live in HD" encore showing of MET's "Las Vegas" RIGOLETTO which I missed the first time.

LaChanze was the only famous person (that I'd heard of) who had lost someone that day.

I think that my mind is  becoming senile. Not only do I seem to far too often forget the names of coworkers, people I have worked with for 16 years (!), but today is the third time in a year that I forgot to go to a doctor appointment.

Here's another clip of LaChanze talking about her daughters and her late husband, from an NBC news segment with Brian Williams.

DR slingshot, have you heard of the Skylark Opera in St Paul?

Yes, thanks DR elmore3003. Alas, their Candide did not get well-reviewed.

DR MBarnum - I think you need a personal assistant to remember these things for you.

Would you like me to schedule try-outs?     :)

Mikey, go to the Piggly Wiggly, stay out of the $1.00 DVD bins and buy a calendar. Its novelty should keep you amused for the rest of 2014, and you can write all of your appointments on it.

DENTAL VIBES TO DR SANDRA & DR SINGDAW!

I had a crown replaced today.  I hope Sandra and sockjaw's dental treatments go as smoothly as mine did.

And did they give you a crown as you deserve or just a nice tiara?

I hope your evening is pain-free and you sleep peacefully.

Just a crown , dang it.  No pain.

Thanks for the peaceful sleep wish!

When you do remember, ask the doctor about these memory lapses.

Memory lapses, my butt! It's imply the curse of being born yesterday. He gets sidetracked by glittery objects.

And speaking of LaChanze, I just finished listening to "Ahrens & Flaherty: Nice Fighting You: A 30th Anniversary Celebration" and LaChanze sings songs from both "Once On This Island" and "Ragtime."  She and the rest of the cast are just wonderful.  I really love this live recording!

I wish we had, at least some of it to see Mills in her first role.

And now, I'm off to see the final preview/volunteer appreciation night performance of Harlequin Productions' fourth, count 'em, FOURTH production of their very own A Rock 'n' Roll Twelfth Night!  Free dinner and a free show...can't beat that!  I don't doubt that it'll be fabulous.  It's a great show.  I've seen every incarnation, so I can't miss this.

Be back later!

Summer is here!  I think it hit 96 today.  It's supposed to be slightly cooler tomorrow, with the possibility of thunderstorms.
