Ginny, I can imagine you're having a good time with your home repairs. Any other projects planned?

Well, DR Jeanne, I'm hoping that, once we get the kids settled, I can keep up the momentum.  I'd like to replace the kitchen countertops and get the utility closet whipped into shape.

I love my granite countertops, except for the cleaner.  I'm allergic to the cleaner so Keith does it.

I don't want to spend that much money...

I haven't checked prices recently, but I had Corian in my last house and was quite happy with it. It was quite durable and I could clean it with Bon Ami, my favorite cleanser, or use another nontoxic cleaner. After twenty years it still looked almost new.

If I could redo our bathroom counter I would look at Corian.

I'd like my utility closet to get whipped into shape, too. In my version the broom, Swiffer, and vacuum all become animated and clean while I sleep.

I did a wee bit of cleaning in my closet today.  I have 13 blouses/tops to give away.

I went for a late afternoon walk and saw 3 deer and found a cell phone.  The phone won't turn on.  Maybe I will stop at Radio Shack tomorrow and see if they can plug it in long enough to find out who it belongs to.

Very sorry to hear about the damage to DR Jeanne's car.  Yes; what IS wrong with people these days?

We are watching the documentary series Theatreland, and enjoying it quite a lot.  I believe either DR George or DR TCB had posted about this some time ago. It follows the day-to-day happenings at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London, through the eyes of all the various people and job functions within the building.

Came across this clip of Mr. Barrett singing "All I Ask of You" with a young singer in Key West:

Back from the city, a wonderful play, and a very decent repast at Don Giovanni Ristorante.

Well, today was the Olympia Pride Parade and the taking down of the PFLAG canopy.  We had beautiful weather that wasn't too warm....it was warm, but not too.  The parade was a lot of fun.  There were a lot of people watching.  My mom and her friend Mona were there, but I didn't wee see them until afterward.

I was supposed to meet with the Theater Artists Olympia vice-president, but she hasn't texted or called back.  I don't know what happened, but hopefully she'll call or text.

I'm going to see Side Show at the Kennedy Center today.   It got a great review in the Post.  I'm really looking forward to it!

Have fun, DR KevinH!  The New York Times was mostly complimentary, as well:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/21/theater/side-show-in-a-new-production-at-the-kennedy-center.html?module=Search&mabReward=relbias%3Ar&_r=0

I would love to see this.  I was in a local production a few years ago (I played Dolly Dimples ;) ) and I loved the show and the experience.

She just called...she accidentally left her cell phone in her laundry room and never heard me calling her.  I hate it when that happens to me!  Anyway, she's on her way and we'll set up the Survey Monkey survey for the voting of our new officers.

I put 1,110 miles on the car this weekend, and I'm exhausted from all the driving.

Listened to a fun western, Buffalo Wagons, which took place in the Texas High Plains, where I happened to be.

And started listening to Great Expectations. Got almost halfway into that one and had forgotten so much about the secondary characters. I think this may be my favorite Dickens.

Made it back in time to hear a friend give an organ recital that included some wonderful Mendelssohn, Bach, de Blasio and more. Really pretty stuff. It's also strange watching someone's hands and feet dancing up and down all those keyboards. I couldn't keep track of one.

Singdaw, when I was in Decatur recently, I saw all these free book boxes around town. They looked like large mailboxes and you were supposed to take anything you liked from any of them. Or, if there were room, you donate your own. Nice way to promote reading.

I grabbed some sort of theater collection. The only play I've had time to read is Gertrude Stein's odd Doctor Faustus.

If we were in a Charles Dickens  novel   it definitely would have been your friend's phone Jane  had found

Question: Is one supposed to dress in costume for an audition?

Great!!!  We have those here in our neighborhood, too.  I haven't taken any yet - I'm afraid to encourage my already burdgeoning collection.
