I think that this was made for BK:

Hope your dental adventures are progressing without problems.

My tooth extraction last week has altered the way I eat for a while. I now chew on the right side and I place things in my mouth with a fork or spoon or my fingers (when I break up large pieces of food) instead of just biting. No sandwiches or burgers or other kinds of food that I would usually just bite and chew. I have to cut things into smaller pieces so I don't use the extraction site to bite and chew. That would cause undue pressure on the site and possibly harm the "wound". I've been eating jello, yogurt, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes and other softer foods while I wean myself back to regular food. The tooth was in the front, not either of the front teeth but one next to the front and I have to be careful of how I eat and chew while the extraction site heals (2 to 3 months). Once it's healed over the dentist will continue with work on a bridge (no implant). Until then I will have two other teeth repaired.

Sorry to hear that, DR Ben.  What a pain!  (no pun intended).

I just had my last in a series of dental appointments last week. All of my extractions and crowns and fillings were at the very back of my mouth, so while inconvenient, not as jarring or disruptive as what you have experienced.

Most of the things I dislike on FACEBOOK are the things that MR BK has talked about in the notes.  It is sad that it has become and advertising behemoth so that we are bombarded with things to look at and like, etc.

I especially hate the posts that include a video or story and a headline that ends:  You won't believe what happens next....  or  ...Wait until you see this....  or  ....You MUST watch this....

I also have a FEW friends who continually post HUGE pictures of themselves and talk in minute detail about themselves....and nothing else....or "check in" every place they go.  Communication doesn't necessarily mean that I am interested in EVERY detail of your day.

A local - to Greencastle where the theatre is - young man was killed yesterday when the backhoe he was driving on the family farm overturned.  He was thrown from the cab, and the machinery landed on him.

Very sad - even sadder are the folks on Facebook who are making the accident all about their own feelings about the event.

Good morning, all!  Hopefully, the super will arrive later, check out the ceiling, and paint it.  Then, I will spend the remainder of the evening putting the bathroom back together. I'm hoping it's all finished today: I'd like to get to Toyland tomorrow to accomplish a few things.

So, yesterday afternoon, after a flurry of emails to everyone abut the July 22 date at the York, who was available and who wasn't, we got an email from the York saying there had been a schedule glitch and the date was no longer good: could we look at two alternate dates. So, my calendar's wide open; we'll see how it plays out.

I plan to continue tidying this dump today. I'm waiting for two final pieces from The man From Philadelphia to edit and add to the notes, and when that's in, I'll continue with that. Each day I run through the notes, trimming and revising, so I'll spend some time with that as well/

DR JRand63, did you know this unfortunate young man? I'm so sorry to hear of this.  My brother Randy and my nephew Matt operate construction equipment, and i've worried about their being injured in a freak accident.

Tuesday morning greetings!  We're waiting for the electrician to call and tell us when he's coming to scope out the work we have for him.  At noon, I'm going to a book discussion and at 2 I have a routine check-up with my cardiologist.

After seeing a Facebook hint over the weekend, I received reliable confirmation this morning that my former co-worker Leon has passed away.  He was the nonprofit outreach librarian with whom I started working in 2000 and who handed me that job when he retired in 2003.  He was one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed in the Dayton community.

TOD:

I really do enjoy so much about Facebook.

The things I don't like, I don't pay much attention to. And those same things tend to occur with or without Facebook.
