BIOPSY VIBES FOR DR VIXMOM!!!!

How many samples were taken and was the size mentioned to you?  Our doctor always sends us home with a little photo so we can see what was removed.

Yesterday, I ushered for one of Debbie's Dance end-of-year recitals (they had one yesterday afternoon and another matinee today, too).  It was three freakin' hours long! :o I had to stand through most of it, but today, I'm going back and working concessions.  Much cushier job.

I brought my Kindle with me yesterday and will again today.  I actually was able to finish the last two chapters of the Dresden Files book that was reading, so that's done with.  Afterward, I went out to dinner and started "Splinter of the Mind's Eye," by Alan Dean Foster.  It was the first Star Wars-inspired novel, written about a year after Star Wars, before ANY other movie was filmed or even written.  If I remember correctly, Luke and Leia are romantically involved!  I remember that I bought this when it first came out, when I was in sixth grade!  I don't remember anything else about it.  We'll see how it all turns out.

And now, I must be off.  Have a good day, all!

Interesting.  At the end of the first movie it felt like that would be the direction the story would take.  I think the chemistry between Han & Leia was more fun.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back from Lima, a little later than usual because we paid a call on Mrs. L.  She's having open heart surgery on Wednesday and vibes and prayers would be appreciated.  While we were eating lunch at Panera, Rob called to tell us that he and Mary Linda would be here when we got home.  They're upstairs assembling the IKEA medicine cabinet and vanity/sink that we bought last week.  It can't be installed until the floor goes in, but at least it'll be ready.

DR Elmore, I remember June 16, 1979, very well.  Many of our theatre friends gathered in the driveway of the home of your airport chauffeur and when he opened the garage door we sang, "What Will We Do Without You-oo?" and waved you off.  Then we gathered for brunch at Nancy's.  Little did I know that 9 years later I'd have been married to Richard for 7 years and we'd be moving into Nancy's house with toddler Rob!

MAJOR VIBES FOR MRS. L!!!!

At first I read that as if they were going to install it before the floor, glad to see they are only assembling it.  Craig doesn't want to buy anything else from IKEA because he takes after his parent's and doesn't enjoy assembling.  We recently purchased a desk chair for me at Office Max, right off the floor already assembled-couldn't resist that even if they still charged us the assembly fee of $10.

Good morning, all! I have a bit of housecleaning today. Now tht the celing is repaired, I can begin my treks to Toyland on Tuesday, so today and tomorrow, following physical therapy, i plan to get my apartment in some semblance of order.

I completely missed the fact that June 16 was my 35th anniversary of moving to Manhattan. Iy was a Saturday in 1979. I was 32 years old and ready to conquer. Today I feel older than God and unprepared to conquer anything.

I would love some help from BK or anyone who can contribute.  I'm trying to identify the record store scene in Westwood in the 1970s.

1.  Vogue Records was on the west side of Westwood Blvd., near Bel Air Camera & Hi-Fi or whatever their name was then.

2.  I'm recalling one across the street near the north end of the block, and it had an upstairs.  What was it?

3.  At one point, Record Surplus (?) had a space in the block north of the Village Theater.  If I'm right about it being them, that would be prior to their moving to Pico Blvd.  (I just found out they've now moved to Santa Monica Blvd.)

4.  Seems like there was a store later, in the mid-1980s, near the little old domed bank building (which I'm thinking was a B of A then).  Anyone know what that was?  I was living in Redondo Beach then, and not frequenting Westwood like I used to.

What I want to know, DR JRand63, is whether the Dream-o-Matic will be sold with the store or does it get to retire with you.

Watching a British series called "Country Matters" that was filmed who knows how long ago. Ian McKellan is a young man. It's a series of stories about country life, and if the first is any indication, it's going to be wonderful.
