THE REVOLTING BODY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were revolting and tired, and now it is time for you to post until the revolting and tired cows come home.

Leaving tomorrow for the weekend.  I'll be E&T for the holiday weekend, unless there's a computer in the library or something like that.

George - The Ray Jessel in that video from America's Got talent, is the same as this Ray Jessel, who co-wrote I REMEMBER MAMA

Here's more on him, and his creating a sensation again at age 84.

Thanks, DR FJL, for the additional information on Raymond Jessel.  Very interesting!

DR Cillaliz - I must say, I like and admire very much your mother's approach to cooking and eating (from last night). My mother copied a page out of that same book, and I can say today that there is almost nothing I don't like!    :)

Good morning, all.

I'm sitting here mulling over the last wisp of what seemed to be a very interesting dream in which I invented an interesting geographical setting but can't for the life of me figure out what the "thing" or activity was to have been when it started.

Good morning, all! I slept in after two mornings of getting up at 6:00, and it was nice to do so. I'll work on the ROBERTA notes, hope I hear from the Kern attorney although I suspect he will be away until next Monday. This is the third day our elevator has been out, and it's starting to piss me off: I cannot get to the laundry room or cart down the garbage, and i really do not like walking down stairs; up stairs is bad enough, but walking down puts too much painful pressure on my ankles.

Today, sports injuries/back specialist Dr Vong at 1:00. Quelle thrill!

Had our get-together and read-through of AVENUE Q last night.  They hadn't planned on singing, partly because a rehearsal was going on upstairs and we couldn't be too loud, but once we sat down and opened up scripts, it seemed ludicrous to not do it all, so do it all we did, however roughly.  And quietly.  The cast is great.  Should be a good show.

THAT DAMNED ELEVATOR!

(That's the title of my upcoming hilarious sitcom based on a real life apartment building in Manhattan.)

One of our loonier tenants moved, and there's been a crew renovating the apartment, carting new appliances in and carting the old out on the only elevator in this building.  I suspect they've been the cause of the damage, but i'd think the repairmen would have been here by now so the blasted renovations can continue. That apartment will probably go for $1800/month, if not more, and I cannot imagine the landlord doesnr' want that $20,000 a year!

We watched GRUDGE MATCH with DeNiro and Stallone last night.

It was okay; sort of a catch 22.

Having ROCKY Meet RAGING BULL 30 years later makes a great "log line," but the producers, writer and director could never really decide if this film was going to be a comedy or a drama, and that resulted in a sometimes entertaining mess.  The actors were fun, though.

Had they made it a musical, it would have been an always entertaining mess.        :)

That's not a trifle; that's at least a substantial...

Wednesday morning greetings!  The floor guys were here promptly at 7:30 and are working away upstairs.  Richard and I have done the first coat on the first wall of our bedroom and he has finally seen the BLUE!  We've divided the labor - he does the walls and I do the windows and baseboards.  Taking a break now while it dries and I go do some errands.

And the electrician is coming Monday!
