No call yet from an a/c guy with extra time on his hands, but the company did call and move my actual appointment up from Monday to first thing Saturday morning.  And tomorrow's going to be cool anyway, so ... we just need that good thunderstorm this evening which hopefully will lower the temp and have us in decent shape.

Re: Criterion sale at Barnes and Noble:

This sale started Tuesday.  I placed an order that day and by the end fo the day, it had been shipped.  It arrived yesterday.  I placed two more orders last night (one is a pre-order for the Demy box).  They were both shipped this morning.

I'm glad to be able to sign on today. I had trouble yesterday, even reading the notes. Then again, it seemed like yesterday was well attended here, so it must have been my server being ornery.

I watched the Elaine Stritch documentary last night, and I'm still exhausted from it.   :D  Bless her.

Off to do some more work on Skip Kennon's music for Kritzerland. Tricky in places, but beautiful.   :)

Therapy was good today, with some new ankle stretches. Errands run, and I am happy to be home in the A/C. I have a quick trip to the corner bodega, and then I am doing NADA!

And no word from the Kern attorney, but I am wondering why Rob Berman has not communicated about the final mix for ROBERTA. which I sent last Saturday.  Hmmm . . . I hope that bodes no ill.

The Demy box shipped two weeks early??   Fantastic!

A couple of weeks ago, Theater Artists Olympia held our annual elections through an on-line survey site.  That worked, except that our vice president position resulted in a tie.  So, for the last several hours, I was creating another survey for the tie-breaking vote.  I got it all set up and sent out, except this time I couldn't figure out how to set the end day/time for the survey.  We got it set up the first time, but I didn't see any place to enter that info this time.  Oh, well.  I put the end date/time in the survey e-mail, so we just have to not count any votes if they come in after that specified time.  I'm sure that it'll be fine. :)

Well, I haven't found how to set time so that it closes automatically, but I found how I can close the election manually.  That's pretty easy.  We've already had more than half of our voters vote!

I thought this was kind of interesting:  an errant period in the Declaration of Independence?
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/03/us/politics/a-period-is-questioned-in-the-declaration-of-independence.html?emc=edit_th_20140703&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=60101684&_r=0

I'll have to print this for my dad.  He loves this kind of stuff. :)

There was -- for one fraction of a second -- a misreading of today's topic as "Damn the Torn Speedos and Full Speed Ahead".

Silly, I know...

Evidently, not too silly.

"1776", anyone?

My family always watches either "1776" or "Independence Day" on July 4th.  This year, it should be "1776."

And an appropriate Topic of the Day (although, it's a stage/movie musical and not a TV show):  "He's obnoxious and disliked."  That's more of a running gag in the show/movie, but it fits.

Had the brief visit from the visitor, am waiting for a local dealer to pick up CDs, had a meatless Cobb salad and a bagel for my meal o' the day, and then it's rehearsal.

For DR Druxy, here is the info about Don Matheson:

http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/topic/55677

I don't want to make an issue out of this, but with the exception of the chat room you link to and Tom Lisanti's column, I find no mention of Don's passing from any major site on the net.  I've tried Google...Variety...Hollywood Reporter and just checked Deanna's FB page again.  I also phoned Variety and they know nothing about it.

Sadly, the story could very well be true, but there certainly hasn't been any official news as of yet.

Reminds me of when People referred to the "late Abe Vigoda".  Abe and I had a ball with that one, and it even inspired a webpage and a song.

...

On my way to Mom's I stopped at the flooring place to pay for the new upstairs bathroom floor and the check I wrote was #1776.

I'm on hold with T-Mobile trying to remove a million text message charges I didn't make.  About 5 are from someone that was apparently drunk.  The rest are something to do with a shortcut.  I might have used the shortcut to check my messages, having no idea I would be charged, but certainly not as many times as it is showing.

We had a lovelier than lovely lunch here in the office...just six of us.  It was going to be red, white and blue salad bar, but what do you serve with salad that's blue?

At any rate, we had smoked chicken, shredded turkey, Caprese salad, blue tortilla chips, salsa, and diced onions/tomatoes/cucumbers and shredded cheese for anyone wanting a more traditional salad.  Topping it off was a red/white/blue trifle...strawberries/whipped cream/blueberries and pound cake all together in a trifle bowl.

I'm still full, and it's been over two hours since we got up from the trable.

I wonder if MBarnum is still sleeping in, or whether he's simply lost in Bollywood epic.
