OMG, I just got over 50 spam emails with the same heading in my spam folder.  What is up with that?  I never post that email anywhere. And I never get more than 1-2 spam emails a day. :(

I just came home from my niece's swim meet.  The final score was 528-516. OMG!  My niece won all 3 of her races.  Her only real competition is if they put the top girl in the winter swim team (her teammate) in the same race (which they almost never do).  Our pool won by 12 points. The other team won the last 3 relays. The last one is our male lifeguards vs theirs. It was neck and neck and they won by a tiny margin (they touched at basically the same time).

That sounds like fun.  I hope a lot of the East Coaster's can make it.

Me too. That sounds like so much fun.

my shoulder is not healing and i have to go for an mri.

the constant pain and meds that don't help make understand others who are going through similar problems

I am very sorry.  I have learned the hard way shoulders are very difficult to heal.

MEGA VIBES FOR YOU!!!

SHOULDER VIBES for DR Mike!

And to all the rest of yez with shoulders.    :)

Seriously, these shoulder things sound awful.  I've been through two experiences of "frozen shoulder" in the past several years.  This, at least the way I've had it, has no particular treatment.  It eventually goes away by itself just as mysteriously as the way it came.  But it restricts your arm movements like crazy, for months, and can be very painful if you're not careful.

Enjoyed a fun flick this afternoon called "Joy of Living" with Irene Dunne, a very young Lucille Ball, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and a score from Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields. Hadn't seen it in years. Still very funny.

With or without a fine plate of Tex-Mex?

I had queso flameado (cheese with chorizo melted into it) and two fish tacos. Tex-Mexlandia is still learning the appeal of fish tacos but these were good. Margaritas were better.

I just got my Miami University alumni magazine, and I was saddened to learn of the death of Robert Kane, who taught me four years of Latin and a year and a half of Greek; he was, I'd guess, the best instructor I ever had. When we weren't talking about Latin, we were raving about musical theatre. He was from Manhattan, and he'd been going to theatre since he was a child. Whenever I got bored discussing Virgil, I'd ask him about the 1956 production of CANDIDE, which he'd seen over a Christmas holiday from Holy Cross. He was a genius, a wonderful teacher, and the world's a less intelligent place today.

He was young. He died on January 2, eight days before his 76th birthday.

Oh, Larry, I am so sorry about your loss.

Time to head home.  I've been here for far too long.

Be back later.

I seem to constantly have 2-3 books out from my eBook library.  Just purchased, first on the list, now in is
"The Mockingbird Next Door" by Marja Mills

"a charming-if-slight book called The Mockingbird Next Door that provides glimpses into the twilight years of Alice and Harper Lee."

Don't let Harper Lee know that you bought that book.

Today was a long day with me needing to pay all the invoices that I needed to pay this month and to finish the report that needs to go to the business office (I didn't leave work until 9:30 pm!).
